Beautiful. Utterly beautiful.
I love Jack contemplating everything he has in NYC. Everything he wants is there- including Katherine.
(I like her much better than Sarah, or something like that...)

Holy cow, that was amazingly beautiful! I saw the show on Broadway about 3 weeks ago and am still obsessed with it! You captured the new Jack so well, and Katherine, and his whole relationship with Crutchie that is just too adorable for words! I commend you, madame! Keep writing and I'll keep reading! :D Carryin' the Banner!

Me again. I'll be brief, but this was really good. I never saw the Papermill version, just the Broadway version (which I know is somewhat different), so the differences were really subtle, and so I could easily follow along with the few changes here.
Again, I really love your writing.

Stress~
You've done it again. You brought me to tears when you were talking about passing on the dream to Crutchie. And all the goodbyes. And then his little montage of things that Santa Fe didn't have...I felt like I was Jack, really seeing those things flash before my eyes, you know? And when you wrote "And, Jack thought, there was another thing Santa Fe would be missing and that was a Jack Kelly dreaming of living in Santa Fe..." I just about lost it. I never thought about it that way. This was another amazing peice, Stress. I love fic, and I love the new musical. Also, I am so used to saying, reading and writing "ink stained hands," I felt this secret kind of incredible when you added in the paint to the stained hands. It's the little things, I guess. So thanks, Stress. You make me so happy.

Although I have not seen the musical, this was a lovely story! It gave me an idea of the differences and similarities between the musical and the movie, and it doesn't sound half bad!
I love the part where Jack lists out all of his friends that won't be in Santa Fe... Very sentimental but still in character, even for the movie Jack!
Excellent work!
