Beautiful. Just beautiful. Cant stop reading this, along with Fur beneath her fingertips and Out of depth. They're just freaking beautiful.
I love this couple since the first hours of my FFIX gameplay, and without losing a second, ran to the good ol' , which i hadn't visited in years (and almost forgot its existence) cause i just NEEDED to read LOTS of ZidDag fanfincs. Found your work, and I'm completely amazed.
You're so good at writing these. Hope to see you arround here soon... though i don't really think it will happen, sadly :(

Well... looks like I have a confession to make.
I've been lurking around this site and your stories specifically for a looong time now, let it be five years, I really cannot remember. I've read all your works that concern themselves with FFIX, many of them multiple times, and I've never commented, blaming my complete inability of putting in words how much I love what you're doing with the material. Like you, I have a very special place in my heart for the game in question - I take it you can understand how and why - and over the years I've ought and read a whole lot of fics about it, but I keep returning to your page, over and over, and my delight never stops. Okay, repeating myself here, but I just felt this needed saying after so long a time. There are other authors deserving of similar confessions from me, but here is where I wanted to start. Funny that I should do it on this story, then...
I'll skip over what else I have to say about your work in general; I'm putting this off until I get around to rereading Foundations, Brick by Brick, Fur Beneath Her Fingertips and all the others. Let's get into what I love about this one specifically...
I'm absolutely taken by the way you keep all the characters - and the world itself - so close to their canon representations while going full-blown AU on them. I've never written AU myself, but I imagine it can get pretty tempting to just kick any measure to the curb and do whatever one pleases with the fluff. I see none of that here. Garnet is the Garnet we see at the beginning of the game. Steiner is .Bit the Steiner we know and love, only that he's not clanking all the time. Doctor Tot (one of my favourite minor characters by the way) is perfect as well. Zidane? I really liked how you turned the Tantalus into a bunch of thieves posing as construction workers, how Blank's and Zidane's friendship is represented (the phone call in Chapter 3? I almost died) and how his social status is worked into the story, so similar to the game but so different at the same time.
The writing style. Always loved it, always will. It gets you hooked, it helps tremendously in keeping the universe you build consistent and together. The first paragraph, as is well known, can make or break a story, and for me, it definitely made this one, seeing as I normally avoid AU like the plague. You strike the fine balance between too much florid description (which I suffer from greatly) and too little, too dour, to many things left out in between. Daaamn, I feel like an endless foutain of praise, as if this were the only tune I could play. Can't help it though - I've wanted to say this for a long time, as mentioned above.
Nitpicks? There have to be some, right? My immersion broke for a second when our protagonist duo got Miranda pulled on them - that's just me though. Another one is that at some point in Chapter 1, I really felt that you were being a little too hard on Garnet. Car broken down, no money, coffee all over herself, a broken heel, wrong train, a brick in her face almost, soaked to the skin in a transparent dress... I could not shake the thought that maybe you needn't have put her through such a lot of crap there, that a little less could have been more... I just had another gripe on my mind, but I just forgot. Probably wasn't important anyway.
By now, I might just have got the point across that I adore your writing almost as much as the game itself, and I'm not ashamed to say that it's gone a long way towards motivating me to write some stuff about FFIX on my own (to this point, I've been devoted to the world of FFVII mostly). Who knows, maybe it'll even find its way here. For now, I remain your devoted fan and follower, and I hope I can find some more words on your stories soon )

I rarely read fan-fictions anymore, because I'm older now and the vast majority of the fan-fictions are badly written, out of character, and incomplete. However, OH MY GOODNESS, was this the best thing ever! I love Zidane and Garnet, and it is so hard to find fan fictions for them, especially good ones like this!
I loved everything about this story! You captured Garnet and Zidane's personalities so well. The only complaint I have is that I doubt Zidane curses that much, but even that I am willing to forgive! The ending was just perfect, with Zidane running all the way in the rain to catch up to Garnet and ask her out and Steiner raining on their parade by closing the window when he asked for a kiss! That scene had me just sitting here, fanning myself as my heart is fluttering, "OTP! OTP!"
I love the scene where he catches her on the freeway and then later apologizes, how he loses his temper for her safety. I was so sad when he realized who Garnet was in jail and the two of them parted! BUT THEN she gets him out of jail and they talk! And the best part is that Garnet now knows what the outside is like and she can make conditions better for the people living there!
I JUST CANT TELL YOU HOW GREAT IT WAS, I HAVE TOO MANY FEEEEELS! It was perfect, short, simple, focusing on the most important characters! I loved it from start to finish! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Amazing story. First forray back into fan fiction after starting ff9 a couple weeks back. So glad to find another Garnet/Zidane story written by you! And AU too. Such a surprise. Loved the story. Hope you'll consider a sequal to this, or other G/Z AU stories in the future.

I remember when I first finished Chapter 2 when it came out, I desperately wanted to read the next chapter. Your writing style is amazing and it was easy to lose myself in this story. All your other works for FFIX have always kept the characters as themselves instead of some OOC crap, and this one is the same, even if it's in an alternate universe, and that's quite impressive. Zidane's as lovable as ever and Dagger (Garnet, in this case I guess XD) is still that naive yet deeply caring girl we knew in FFIX, and I love the way you portray Blank. Men love their cars, I guess!
And I guess Steiner would stay the same no matter where you put him haha. I think my favorite part of the story is when Zidane draws that smiley face on the car window with his finger; that's just so him :3

Oh my gosh I love all of your FF IX fics. This is one of my favorites (only made thia account to review you deserve it!). And I will tell you, that my day today was like so f*cked up. I'm tired, hungry and mad overall so I decided to calm myself down by reading your fics (dunno how many times I've read them over and over). I wished for so long karma to continue and, when I saw that you upldated it I was SO happy. It raised my mood to heavens! Can't wait to read it all over again 3 thank you. I hope to see more from you in future. Oh and I love your writing style. It's clear, nice and detailed. I also like how you use much spaces, because I have trouble to read too much text putted together (I always have hard time to follow from where I am) but your text is so easy to read 3 I'm really picky of what I read so I'm happy I found such talented writer like you. I used to write a lot when I was kid. I still have much stories I wish to write but I'm more into drawing now and making my stories into comic won't kinda work out, so they'll just probably stay in my head.
