I can really imagine this happening; it does explain a lot - like why they didn't consider Remus as Secret Keeper and why he wasn't notified of the change. I also really liked that Peter was the one to plant the seeds of doubt in their minds and that whilst Lily was so ready to believe him, James was desperate to remain trustful towards one of his oldest friends. I think that was probably what got him killed - his blind trust in the people he loved and cared about. Great fic! I especially loved the ending :)

Oh! I hate how Peter mad them think Remus was untrustworthy! Stupid rat! But really good overall, though I think my favorite part was the last Sentence or two:

"Peter had said – and though Lily mourned the loss of a once good friend, Remus' relationship was not the first casualty of the war they all fought in; and it wouldn't be the last."

And sorry that I'm like, stalking all of your stories :)
