As far as my little experience with plants is... bad, maybe a plant for beginners? I'm thinking of the Dummies book series (how to do whatever for dummies)... Maybe it's used in some potion (lol, maybe wit sharpening potion) and/or generally used to teach children interested in plants and such how to take care of one? Maybe it turns different colors or makes a noise when hungry/thirtsy, needs more light, etc? Idk...

When I begun reading this story, I thought it wouldn't be to my liking. However, after a couple of chapters, I came to enjoy it.
Please update! I really want to know what happens when Harry goes to Hogwarts and when the Malfoys and Snape realizes who he is! :)

You mentioned pointing and laughing at a rattlesnake. This reminded me of my brother. We were at a lake with a really dry shore in the summer, and there was a rattlesnake under a rock. My brother tried to go closer before our mother yelled at him.

Your writing is beautiful. I love Max, he is brilliant and Harry's sketches and the way he's cut off emotionally or when he's scared how he imagines his mark surrounding him, protecting him. Geez. I love this and your writing is heartbreaking and painful and just plain enthralling.
I hope you update this sometime. Id like to say hi to Max again _
