I am so proud of you for writing this. The ending hurt but it was realistic. We all hear about the stories about successful recoveries from addiction and rarely do we hear about the ones that fail. Edward and Bella tried, valiantly, I like to think. They succumbed to the addiction after trying so hard. Nobody is at fault, well except maybe James for providing the drugs. I like to think there is a special place in hell for people like him. If anyone flames you, I would personally like to bitch slap them.

How sad that they couldn't stay clean; they sounded like it was something they both wanted. This happens in real life so much. The addicts are the focus and not the parents. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your child in this way. My wish is that the world would wake up and find ways to keep this from happpening.

It seems like Edward is getting better. The reasons behind him using made sense to me. He was a college freshman and trying to become a MD like his father. The pressure was killing him and the one time he used turned into an addiction. Then Bella started doing it with him even with her fear of needles. I wonder if they can be healthy together. They were together in high school before the addiction came into play. Can they make things work? I won't answer that question because addiction is hard to overcome.

The desperation and need in that scene killed me - to be that ill and still only crave a fix. And that he wants to have control over Bella the way the drug controls him. Yeah, it hurts to read.

*heart clinch* So it's been 3 months since Carlisle and Esme has seen Edward. Esme want to take care of her son, Edward. I view her as a strong and nurturing mother. She wants to be there for Edward. Carlisle knows the brutal honest truth. Edward has got to want to get clean. It makes me wonder if they have thought of doing an intervention.
