I liked it, but I think you meant "sliver of light" and "sliver of hope" rather than "slimmer" (which mean being skinny)

Very sad, and very nicely done. I feel so sorry for poor Tetsuhiro! :( You summed it up well; your poem captures a lot of emotion in just a few words, which makes them have more of an impact, in my humble opinion.
