you have a lot of promise (yes yes, hypocritical from a newbie) but i advise you to try to make this longer. it was so short i couldnt get a feel for any of the characters. perhaps im lazy (I am) and you have written more with them, but from this snippet not much could be gleamed.
keep it up, dont let you're dream die blah blah inspiration.
