Okay, I have an excuse for starting to check the other stories only now - I always ended up rereading Irrevocable first...
This story was so cute ♥ The beginning had me in Christmas mood again, and I liked how you described Elena processing her feelings. "His touch was as gentle as it was fervent. It was more than loving, it was positively reverent." - my favorite.

Big fat awww. So many lovely parts. I have this weird thing about smell, and love seeing how people describe Damon's scent. I remember in another of your fics, you described it in the way I usually see it: spicy and manly. But I think you really nailed it here, with the leather and alcohol and cologne. Weird digression, sorry.
But everything about this was great. The oregano, the reverence in his kiss, her openness to forever with him. But I think my favorite line is "She had been complete before knowing him, but would never feel whole without him again." Perfect description of love. It doesn't make you whole, but its absence makes you incomplete. Lovely.

You continue to have some of the most fascinating character insights I've seen. Love the parallel between Damon and Anna-never would have thought of it, but it works perfectly. I love Alaric's summation of the Damon/Elena relationship, and how it's full of boozy allusions. And even though Christmas is long over, the idea of sacrificing an elf on an altar of sugar plums still has me grinning. Nicely done.

I also agree that Jeremy doesn't get enough credit for he has been through. He lost more than anyone.
I loved the way you showed Elena feelings for Damon, especially the part "He loved her enough to let her choose, and the thought of him being rejected again almost brought tears to her eyes."
