No, you make it very beautiful also! LMM is not the only one who can write flowery passages. Admittedly, she writes it a bit better, but your descriptions are almost as good. I am telling the truth.

You have real talent. I have seen no flaws, which makes me want to burst into tears...
NO, I am just kidding. I am very grateful that you write this well.
Sorry, I wrote this before, and forgot to add my "name".
I sometimes speak or write in such an old-fashioned way that everyone looks at me strangely. This has been going on since I was nine, since I've read a great deal of classics. Rilla of Ingleside is my very favorite.

dear, I'm so sorry for the late review. you see, my baby godson has been keeping me occupied for the past few days. but I've read it finally- and I'm as delighted as ever! what I liked especially, this time, was this bit with Susan and her opinion of Shakespeare, you managed this piece just perfectly! and, having been sure I would love Alice- love her I do! she's adorable and funny in the way I especially like.
great job, as always. I'll be looking forward to another update.

Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you in my last review that I feel that you should continue this. :)
Your writing is as like L. M. M. as ever, and even though you're adding your own scenes (which could very well be canon for all we know!), I still like that you're sticking to the story itself. :)
I also love how most of your chapters end in some thought of Rilla or another. Ken is besotted with her. :D

Oh my goodness ... reading this from Rilla's point of view was mournful, but from Ken's view it's even more so!

Ken is very gentlemanly in the sense that he does not let his fancy for Rilla prevent her from enjoying herself. Although, the poor soul has no idea of how he delighted Rilla that evening by paying attention to her. :D
You write ... there's only one word for it ... beautifully. :)

Being an old romantic at heart, I found this chapter to be wonderfully "delicious", as Anne would say! :)

Lovely story! You have a really good writing style. And an interesting direction. I can't wait to read more.

Well, I'm one of the ones who did not need any convincing of Rilla becoming a VAD. Although that stems in large part because your story is my introduction to these characters and I simply love what you've done with them. I say, follow your instincts and let the characters guide you. Once we start writing, the characters develop a mind of their own and we must listen to it.
This is an excellent chapter. Very strong in emotions and well written. This war business is never pleasant and you've shown us that. I really feel for Rilla. You've made her into a strong, vibrant character that I like and I'm rooting for.
Take care,
Jilsen

it's a very good chapter, impartially. there were some bits in it I loved especially, like Susan and Ken's farewell line. the whole exchange between John Meredith and Rilla was pure perfection. I also really appreciate how realistic you are with those war slogans. that said, I still don't see Rilla going. now, it's not that you failed to persuade me! I'm just a creature of habit, I guess. I hope you don't mind me saying this? I mean, I wanted to review, but I also wanted to be honest. you're being very true to the characters and your style IS very LMMish. but Rilla in the book did not have any thoughts of becoming a V.A.D. I remember Di's wanting to go and she was just a minor character there. that's probably why I can't get reconciled with the idea.
but canon Rilla is one thing, yours is another. I think with all the changes you've administered you may treat the storyline as your own creation. without LMM's background to it, it works for me, her choice is well grounded. and it's as much of a delight to read as ever, and thank you for that! good luck with the exams, by the way- and why, on earth, do you have them so late? it's summer, having exams in summer is a felony! ;-)
