Thoroughly enjoyable...I like your Rilla much better than the one in cannon; this one is venturing out beyond Glen St Mary, going to a different city to do something truly useful for help in the war effort. Alice reminds me a bit of Phil Blake, too, with her indecision, and her stories are highly amusing. Looking forward to chapter 11 already, and many thanks for the prompt update :)

Ahh, a sweet, emotional chapter. The war looms large in everyone's mind. Young people must enjoy themselves now while they can. War is such a terrible thing and just the fact it is there, makes Rilla and Ken's romance all the more poignant. You do a great job of showing us that.
Those line breaks did not show up, so thank you for warning us.
There are a few glitches, but nothing that distracts from the wonderful quality of your writing.
Thank you for the shout-out although it is totally unneccesary.
Take care and can't wait for the next chapter. :)

Simply beautiful, nothing overdone. My fave scene was Rilla and Ken's kiss and realisation of their love for each other. Keep up the excellent work. Looking forward to Chapter 10 :)

Yay, an new chapter!
I really like the paragraph about how frustrating one's feelings can be. "It has to be from the heart. I have no clever scientific basis, but I have myself to vouch for it. ... My thoughts just seem to have a will of their own." The whole paragraph is just so good. Very well written. I really love it. You really got me into Rilla's head and into her feelings.
I love this line, too: "That smile said everything her lips did not."
Great chapter. You continue to nicely develop the characters and their relationships.

Oh, how lovely, a new chapter from you. I do forgive you for the lengthy delay, especially when the writing and characters are so rich.
I love Rilla's stroll down the lane, her ruminations, and her meeting with Tom. What a spunky girl Rilla is, but she has insecurities, too and you show both very well throughout this chapter.

Oh so wonderful. Rilla is coming to realize just how deep her feelings are for Ken. I like how you've shown us that slow awareness from both sides - Rilla's and Ken's.
I'm actually glad I haven't read the books so this is like an original novel to me. I have no idea what awaits Ken when he goes off to war. I'm dreading it and looking forward to it at the same time.
Can't wait for the next chapter!
