Ahh Ryoga's mention made me remember his first appearance in the movie. And how delighted I was to see that orange freak again, this time in Shin Tenipuri. Good memories.
Ryoma and Nanjiro. Stupid father son 's be honest, I thought it'll end up something perverted and humorous. But the heart warming story was an unexpected suckerpunch to the gut. With bonus appearances of Sakuno.

I feel lik G. Thank you. Thank you very much for eliciting such deep raw emotions from me. This is one of the best ficlet between Ryoma and Samurai Nanjirou's relationship. It felt so good to read all those things. I've always held some respect for Ryoma's father despite his perverted ways. And I can seriously tell despite the teasing and annoyances, Ryoma and Nanjirou definitely share a deep connection as father and son.

You posted this fic quite a few months back, but I thought I might as well review since I've read it twice now and still feel the same warm, queasy, mushy feeling in my stomach. It's like the perfect boat of nostalgia, sweetness, bitterness. Time skips, family, and change are practically the recipe for stomach-twisting-warm-queasy-feelings.
I can't really describe it. Just makes me sad yet happy to see Ryoma grow up. When you said this line:
-The Samurai lost to his son for the first time that afternoon.-
The last line was also remarkably -right- for the fic. You captured the father/son relationship beautifully.
It was just so...perfect. You're an excellent writer, and you wrote a fabulous family fic. It's so fresh to see good stories from the pile of crap on PoT fanfiction (Including mine. Yup, mine is probably crap too).
I hope to see something new from you soon!

And that's something that's never happened to me before.

I don't think I commented on LJ yet so I'll do it here. I love the way you made the romance subtle. I think I've made it obvious that I'm not fond of het stories for POT. You focused more on the somewhat-awkward-yet-perfectly-making-sense relationship between father and son. It's overall sweet and heart-warming but not too sweet (does that make sense?). After all, these two guys are anything -but- sweet XD
Love the way you started and ended it. I am speechless as to how to describe it 3

This story was beyond adorable! The characters couldn't be anymore in character and the sequence of the events was perfectly plotted out. I just loved it, so gonna favorite!
