This was exactly as I felt when I first read what that he had wanted to break the poor kid's heart and shatter his dreams. Kharma came and bit him on his cute ass and now he has to work extra hard to attain something that he was handed on a silver platter. I always wondered what an alternate reality would have been had Saga not laughed and Onadera not run away.

Your exploration of character depth is thought-provoking. Alternating between what Ritsu was or is and Takano's thoughts on it gives a duality in exploring who Takano really is. You summarized their relationship in few words, but you did not progress towards the superficiality easily lapsed into. Drawing the parallel of the beginning and the end ended the story, subtly indicating the repeat of the cycle of love, from ten years ago and the present. Your writing is truly beautiful. ^^
