I HAD THIS WEIRD EXPERIENCE WHILE I WAS 8. I went tomy grandma's (she lives in Compton, or used to.), and I'd sit and read, occasionally looking out and enjoying the scene outside the door. And everyday or every other day, I'd see this shadow. Like a cowboy, with a hat. He would stand there, and at one point the shadow's head would turn and seemingly look DIRECTLY at me. I wasn't scared though. More fascinated. The room seemed darker. The air seemed more tense. Nothing seemed to move. Then the shadow would disappear. I would go back to the book undisturbed. I never, EVER questioned it, never checked to look and see where the "man" went.
And (woah, long paragraph there.), one day, I watched documentary on ghosts. And they discussed the ghost shadow I saw.
Now this is after my grandma moved away. Like 2 years, when I was 10.
I can't recall what the documentary said, it was either this:
"The shadow is said to watch over one, making sure the person was okay. The cowboy hat resembled a sheriff's hat, as if to keep one safe."

Worst costume? Oh jeez, once I went as a toilet paper mummy, but halfway through the night, it rained. All the toilet paper fell off, and all I had on was a white tank top, white shorts, and some white Converse. So I told people I was a female impersonator. It was fun. :D

Many people dismiss the 9/11 bombing. I went to school, anticipating this lesson on the 9/11 cause I found it devastating, yet, very interesting. I was excited to learn more- I have watched documentaries and reenactments due to interest- and I was actually excited to rage and discuss this with other classmates. When they announced the 9/11 on the announcer thingy, I was INFURIATED at how people were like, "Oh yeah, its 9/11. I was born..." it pissed me off. I even told off a girl for saying, "Stupid Muslims" cause that was uncalled for.
And what do you know? My history teacher doesn't even mention 9/11. I turn to my friend, "Dude. She didn't even say anything about 9/11." My friend shrugs and turns away.
People are so STUPID, so careless. We need to REMEMBER these things to prevent it from happening. Instead of pretending to be sorry, making sad faces at the story, instead of pretending to cry, we could try and prevent this.
Like you said, much isn't really accesible for us to do, being children. But just remembering could help.
I've heard my fair share of Muslim jokes. Honestly, I always stereotyped the myself. When I hear Muslim, I think beard and weird hoody thing. It pops up. Honestly, I've laughed at some Muslim jokes. Cruel, yes, and I realize that.
I never really thought about how it affected Muslims themselves. I thought poor families, and stuff. But the prejudice toward Muslim went unacknowledged by me. But now that you mentioned it, there is TONS of hate towards Muslims.
Its really sad when your ashamed of your own race, and afraid to reveal it.
People target Muslims. Why? They're the easy pickings. Oh, we have dirt on them. Let's be mean to them. The US who bombed plenty of nations as well? Nah, its okay, because its, well, the US!
The common human thinking.
ITS WRONG. I truly give my sorrow (not that you need it, you're amazingly strong) out to you, for dealing with the absolutely ignorant people.
People are so easily swayed. My friend said it? The internet had a total false report on it so I must believe it. Everyone hates Muslim? Oh I must to because I don't want to stick out now. And its people who think this who disgust me, their way of thinking is so pathetic, its actually them I pity for being so stupid. Bless your heart for dealing with THAT.
I'm glad FF hs provided you a safe haven, somewhere you could be yourself.
I'm glad I could be part of what makes you happy.
I actually love reading stupid Youtube comments:
"All Mexicans are good for are working."
"Shocker, a Mexican is mowing the lawn."
"He jumped the border."
This makes me laugh. I mean, seriously? Do people actually write this down shamelessly. Is the human race this bad? I hope you get kicks and giggles on racial comments. I sure do.
Dealing with criticism- especially false critism- is hard. But just..pull though. I hope no personal attacks will be made- if there has, I'll freaking grill the person- and I'm glad you mentioned this, I bet no one else did.
Being incapable of helping is hard, and honestly does not cross my mind. How many times have you passed a person on the street with a cup, begging for money, and you passed by them with so much as a second thought? How many times has veteran holiday passed by, and all you thought was that you had no school? Cause I sure have done each at least once. And I'm ashamed.
Typical. I mean humans don't really do anything, unless they get SOMETHING out of it.
There's a death every 10 seconds. 10 seconds passed. Someones dead.
But what're you gonna do? Nothing. What CAN you do? Nothing. Its painful to bare, but that's that.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. For pointing out that you are Muslim and PROUD. You are not some terrorist, you are a person. That Islam is full of teaching, wisdom, and purity.
