First: Mikhailovich was just uttterly awesome as he died.
Second: Great chapter all round, heartbreaking and sweet, well, bittersweet and really worrying about Shepard and EDI's protocol there.
Third: Awesome war meeting. Really love Consul, Twilight and Hope, Zaal'Koris and the others who are completely behind Shep.
Forgot to mention in my previous review how awesome the arrival of stealth dreadnoughts was.
Also, wonderful moments between our couples. All of them. And the goodbye was kinda beautiful. Also, proposing Garrus is wonderful.
Also, I have to mention, that I adore the deep friendship that EDI and Shepard have come to share, even if it is half-built on all the terribly heavy decisions they make.
A little note, despite my laziness at pointing out flaws: In this chapter, you kept writing "wane" instead of "wan" when you wrote "wane smile" instead of "wan smile". Pretty sure it's the latter.
This review does not do justice to this wonderful chapter, but I can't think of more to say. I look forward to the next chapter sooooo much, even if I also dread it, both for what might happen and because we are nearing the end. But it has been a joy and a privilege to be with you on most of this long ride. Better than canon, so far, is not hyperbole.
P.S. Can you really make the conclusion fit into a single chapter?

And I finally return to this fic and wonder why I was away. Probably a vague feeling that I ought to play these events before reading them.
But it is interesting to check whether you can make them work for someone who doesn't already have the framework that experiencing the dlc gives. I can tell you with confidence that you can. This is as brilliant as the rest of them and both the depths and the mindscape was vivid and the former terrifying. So here's another feather for your cap: Your writing works even when I don't have the images in my head already. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it is great praise in fanfiction. Not that yours can even fairly be compared to most of the crap on the site.

Ah, and so we near the conclusion. I'm actually really anxious to see how this turns out, given the buildup and knowledge of what happens in the game's canon. I'm sure that you'll do Shepard's story justice, but it's still immensely stressful not knowing what's going to happen. As always, your writing style is fantastic. The Garrus/Kasumi scene was flawlessly done, and actually has me seeing them as a definitively compatible couple. The Tali/Shepard scene was good too, although I felt it could have been a little longer. My only real issue was with the war council scene, because while it was still very well composed, I would think that Han Gerrel would be there over Zal Koris; I'd actually like to see what becomes of Han Gerrel, since I feel he gets an overly bad rap. Anyways, this was as fantastic as always, and I'll be eagerly awaiting the conclusion!

I honestly hope Shepard makes it, the trope of 'the hero dies to save the world' is one I hate the most - what, developers put the guy through as much shit as they can and he cannot have his happy ending. Just kill him at the opening of ME1, it's more humane, and to hell with the galaxy.
Oh, and for the hell of it, next time, Kasumi has a slight chaffing problem...

Shit, this really held the weight of a penultimate chapter ..I dunno how I feel about it. Don't get me wrong, I love the story, the details, the care put into it, but I really don't want it to end! No matter what, and ending means that is all there is, and nothing more, and while it is inevitable, it is still sad to see.
Still. I forget how long I have been around for, but I love this story, and you should feel great for the superb quality.

Wow, this was a really fast update. So we're heading to Earth with crucible "again" but this time with bigger fleet of all races along with leviathans.
And there is also a backup plan.
Honestly it always comes back,, the end of ME2 and when we saw all the Reapers heading for us. My only thought was how to get them all to any of the homeworld so I could blow the relay here. Given the ME3 storyline it would mean to sacrifice Earth and hope that the combined forces would be enough to defeat the rest of Reapers forces elsewhere.
I wonder what your plan is and can!t wait to see the finale.

You have brought such greater depth to all of the characters from this amazing game series and have brought Joy and sorrow with your writing. I know you have one last chapter to write and I know how I would like the story to end but in the end you must write the story as you would write it I eagerly await the Final Chapter in your epic retelling of the Mass Effect series.
