Interesting story. I never really thought about the fact that Jack would have been through the whole slitheen thing twice. I like how you handled it.

*snerk* You've got some great zingers in here! You had Owen's voice bang-on; I was cracking up like no one's business. And Jack threatening Ianto not with death but with Retcon? Priceless. Not sure where Jack and Ianto are in their relationship here; the flirting is pretty intense, though somehow not as focused as it might have been... early days, I'm guessing.
Interesting take on Jack, btw. The Doctor's Jack would have jumped on the lift and waited in the TARDIS for everyone to arrive. Torchwood's Jack has had a century-plus of responsibility to steady him, to make him think things through. Interesting that he still feels the need to lock himself in, though.
I like Ianto's comment at the end. Sends me back to the end of... oh, what is it, "Last of the Time Lords," I think... when Jack tells the Doctor, "I spent the last year thinking about that team of mine," and going back to Torchwood. Thinking about doing a sequel? Ianto's reaction to Jack's disappearance, perhaps...? *Shamelessly attempting to feed your muse...* Thanks for another great story!

Interesting peek into Jack's head. And The Doctor could have checked for Torchwood.
