for Help Me Say Goodbye

That was perfect. It did not have the surreal magic return of Erik. It was harsh and beautiful when I get to my computer I WILL favorite.

I can't believe I just got to reading this now! I didn't even know you wrote it until after I was finished with it lol. This was a really great story! The plot twist was really good. I didn't see it coming at all. And I love how you made Raoul sympathetic. At of all of the characters, I felt the worse for him. I don't know what I would have done in his situation. Good job! It was depressing but I enjoyed it :)

Oh. My. GOSH...

I can't believe I've just now read this! I was all like, "Yeah, Christine!" But, THIS...

This is a twist worthy of Hitchcock's jealousy. SO good! My mouth hasn't closed yet...

My word. This story is, truly, very elegantly written. I simply love how you develop each chapter, before finally bringing out the "big reveal" and leaving us readers at a loss, as to what we should've caught onto beforehand. You left clues, albeit carefully written, which can be overlooked if one isn't careful. It's a very masterfully done strategy, certainly. The story also feels very Jamesean, very "Turn of the Screw," in its approach. I enjoy the ambiguity of Christine's midnight meetings with Erik, followed by Raoul's surprise when she confesses as much to him. His reaction should've sent off a red flag, in manner of something being not quite right.

And this may also be a bit surprising for me to confess, because I know I should sympathize with Christine, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for Raoul throughout this story. I cannot thank you enough for being kind to his character, especially since a lot of EC-oriented stories fail in that regard. Throughout this story, I simply wanted to take him into my arms and tell him it's all right, even when it's really not, with Christine's insanity and her preference of loving Erik instead of him. I also felt sorry for Christine; she's really a prisoner to Erik, even when he's dead. She'll never truly escape from him. :(

I also love the story's conclusion; Erik's persistence in haunting Raoul and Christine in some form ties in perfectly with Raoul's comment in the musical. I applaud you on how you decided to end it, even when my heart goes out to all of the characters. I've come across mad!Christine stories before, but this story is very original in its approach. It's fantastic to say the least, and I really enjoyed reading it!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us readers; I can't wait to read more of your work!

Best wishes,

— Kittie

Poor Christine. Poor Raoul. Poor me! I am going to cry. But this was a beautiful story. So well-written. I love it. It's just a perfect story.

I did not see that coming. I'm going to cry. I had so hoped... but then again you're right, there were a few clues. Hopefully Christine will be OK soon. Bye-bye Erik. My thoughts are with you...sobs hysterically

Poor Christine, being kept from Erik like this! As aforesaid, I do prefer her with Raoul, but this is MADNESS! Raoul thinks Christine is mad and maybe she is but this is no reason to keep her from the man she loves! Their marriage will never work out like that. Raoul must learn more about the ways of women and how they feel. Tut, tut, Mr Raoul. Moving on to next chapter.

Dun dun dun cliffhanger! In a way I'm happy that Christine isn't lying anymore... but I'm guessing Raoul will NOT be pleased. Moving swiftly on to next chapter!

I was right! I AM in for a beautiful story. Even though I prefer Christine and Raoul together, I hope Christine and Erik find they're happy ending together...

Enjoying it already. You really found a way to express the whole thing i.e. Christine's realisation she loves Erik, feeling out of place in the de Chagny household etc. and I can tell I'm in for a beautiful story.

This is MrsMargeryLovett, would have logged on to review but I can't get my head around the new system D Anyway, firstly apologising for how long it's taken me to review, I've just been so out of it. But seriously, for a first fanfiction this is really really inventive :D I didn't see the twist coming and I loved the characterisation of it all, rather brilliant :) I do hope you write more stories!
