That was really rather excellent. Some of the middle chapters were a bit difficult to track, but I understand that was part of the intent. I really like the overall direction of the story, and that you didn't make it feel too easy or not have long-term consequences. Well done :)

This is a unique and fascinating story. It's the first time I've ever seen someone address the control ending as something other than an instant win card or a trick. It also properly addresses just how much harm the destroy option would cause. Overall this fanfic is well written and in all ways a more satisfying ending than the conclusion to the game as laid out in cannon.

Amazing story! LOVED it! :D See at the bit where Shepard and EDI were coming onto the ship, I couldn't BREATHE! O.O AMAZING! XD My only complaint would be that all the bits with the 'black veins' and all the brainwashing kind of things were really confusing. But the rest was AMAZING!

Very very good! You took an idea and ran with it, simply going about logical but creative effects from that.
Allow me to feed your plot bunnies here, and ask you this. What would happen if while prusing one of those Reapers, they find the Colonial remntant fleeing the Cylons? That the Reaper tried to get the cylons to re-start it's race? :)
About the only way to improve this story, or it's sequal is to make it a crossover. But I'm biased that way, I love crossovers! Heck, what if the Geth find a way to contact 'The Great Machine' from Babylon 5?

Well, if I ever have happy control ending in mind. It was very similar to this one. So it's really close to my hearth even with just the settings.
Still you was able to take it to another level with a high quality writing and storytelling.
If I wanted to pinpoint the good things in your story, I would probably just copy the whole thing into my review :-D So I won't go there and just mention how glad I'm they're still on the Normandy since "We gave our lives to Normandy" (I'm also a great fan of Miracle of Sound) :) There are a lot of story where Shepard retire and my wouldn't do that ;)
And since you asked so nicely about your weaknesses and I think "none" wouldn't satisfy you :-D I will just point at the decision I disagree with, I wouldn't let Shepard remain officialy dead. But at least he got his anonymity which it seems he wanted. So that just my opinion :-D

Very thorough explanation. There are still some question about Shepard body like if he needs to eat and similar problems but from the galactic point of view it's pretty minor :)
I'm really enjoying your story and I'm really glad that Shepard's family and yeah, the Normandy crew is a family, is together.
