I just recently started reading this story, so I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to thank you for putting so much heart and hard work into this beautiful story and sharing it with everyone here. You've done an incredible job of bringing the characters to life, and I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading as Grimmjow and Ichigo's relationship has developed. One of my favorite moments was when they were talking at the bar with Kensei as a mediator, and Grimmjow said, "I don't plan on doin' anything that has the word settle in it." So sexy and in-character :')
I also really enjoyed the scene where Grimmjow was "sexting" Ichigo, and just in general seeing how Grimmjow has become more playful and affectionate towards Ichi as they've gotten to know and trust each other more. I know next to nothing about sports, and I don't really follow any teams, but nonetheless this story has totally captivated me (and I feel a little bit curious about hockey now, lol), so truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you for writing and sharing all these beautiful chapters.

So I generally read this on AO3, and I love this story so very very much. I'm Mykko_chan over there. My stories are a bit too mature for here. And I'm over here reading your Author's notes, cause I was curious about why you'd taken so long between chapters. Not because I was angry... OMG NO! It just took me 6 mo to post the next chapter of my fic... but because I totally understand and I really like your work. I have a tumbler Shingamililly if you want to visit me or pm me here. I'd love to visit with you. You seem awesome and I'm all for more friends. I'm amazed by the amount of detail you have in your story. It's like you've played hockey and you've made me want to go see a game in person again. I've been once but now I want to go again. I was reading this chapter and grinning all the while. I love the little contact scenes between them, Ichigo's hand on his chest, or gripping his arm to try to stop him - I completely lost it at the bit where they were favoring the aches they gave each other, while still trying to play it cool. But even before it was explicitly written was so obvious every little touch set up a spark :D
Urahara, the devil knows what's going on already doesn't he? Of course he does, he's too smart. I also liked Grimmjow's conspiratory tone, "Did he just call me fat?", and just overall letting Ichigo's insistence be an excuse for him to stay. Those two came a long way :')
Urahara clearly has been googling Grimmjow's history. He knows his father died recently, right? Which makes me wonder if Ichigo knows that too or if he connected the dots between Grimmjow's lousy attitude and his dad's death. I remember Kensei told him Grimmjow had personal issues and him being interested, and now that he's hearing Urahara talk about Grimmjow's state of mine I'm curious to what he's making of it.

Urahara's seech about fear was so cool in bleach! I'm so glad you mentioned it *u* it was really cool here too.
Also, damn if it doesn't work like a charm.
Grimmjow's was so freaking lost in his issues until now, literally wandering In a fog of fear.
So... Urahara is the rightful King of trash talking. My compliments, to think he could make Grimmjow so infuriated and bordering on insanity. Though we already saw Grimmjow's unhinged side it was amusing to see it surface again, thankfully not towards Ichigo XD
Urahara is unparalleled.
I cannot imagine what Ichigo must have experienced after years under his care XD
The poor guy is a saint, literally. I feel bad when I think that I laughed at all his desperate attempts to avoid bloodshed XD
And yes, let's just address that hand on Grimmjow's chest, their closeness and playfulness... and yeah, Fangirling. I firmly believe Urahara would have fanboyed too if it didn't mean certain death XD
I screamed when he tried to talk with Grimmjow about 'the relationship'.
Oh my, after all the issues he already poked at, he just had to bring this one too to the attention.
I loved seeing Grimmjow lose his marbles over and over again. Most of all I loved that he forced himself to try many times just because of Ichigo, I mean, it's proof of how far they've come even more that that final smiling at each other scene. It was so cool to see them interact. I mean, we saw Grimmjow actually listen to Ichigo, believe in him and his good intentions, do something he doesn't want to do just because he asked. I might faint.
About the too many ideas slapped together thing.
Well, I actually kinda liked it?
I mean, I guess you are thinking about the many, many things Urahara throws at Grimmjow during the chapter. About that, it does make sense that he would try to overload Grimmjow, keep digging and slapping him with all the issues he's not dealing with. Also, when they take a break and talk about things that might seem unrelated, it works because first, those are questions that Grimmjow would want to know the answers of. Like, the fact that the old man is not playing is a topic everyone would address as soon as possible.
Second, their discussion flows with the topics, which is realistic. Also it's really cool to see it develop and get further and further from their training.
It makes sense that Grimmjow would want to talk about anything other than his issues and when they start talking about Ichigo and the fact that 'Grimmjow happened to him' Urahara would rein in the discussion and focus it to Grimmjow's clogged heart. Both evading the question and at the same time addressing it. Even Grimmjow started joking at the end so that they would get as far from it as possible.
It is right that Urahara would wait until the end of the chapter and for Grimmjow to get just a little more open before mentioning the relationship thing again. So yeah, many many topics, but they are all rings of the same chain and everything flows as it should, I think.
Also, thank God for that break, they really needed it. The comedy was okay too I think, personally it didn't distract me from the heavy topics so, well done!
I liked a lot Urahara's method to stress Grimmjow into listening. Into learning again what he thinks he knows but has forgotten.
First asking him why he wants to win an thus making him aware that he is unconsciously doubting himself.
Then go ahead and talk about the one big mistake that made everything an emotional mess and led him astray.
And after relentlessly poking the issue and calling on his uncoscious fears, he went and said him what he dreads the most, that he is an open book when he plays.
Finally, clearly telling him what to do, to leave all useless thoughts behind and let his instincts guide him.
And his instinct did come out!
He actually remembered what it means to act on feeling alone and not lose onself in useless thoughts.
Like, the clash between emotions and thoughts in competitions is like, 70% of an athletes worry.
I mean, physicality and technique really do metter less than that one second of insecurity that you cannot get rid of because it's hiding in your freaking head.
So... A for coaching Urahara San!
I really liked everything about this chapter. I got so freaking fired up with the song and Grimmjow's triple A
Oh my Gooood! He Is so fucking cool.
I do believe Ichigo would finally look at him that way. I mean, how could he not?
Damn. Ichigo finally saw the side of Grimmjow that loves and lives the game. I may seriously faint.
And Grimmjow felt apreciated finally, undeniably liked by someone because he is himself... And he couldn't hide the happiness and smiled and yes, Fainting right about now.
It really was a pivotal chapter, I knew that all Grimmjow's issues were all related but damn.
I think it wasn't at all possible to not talk about this may topics it this chapter to solve the puzzle that is Grimmjow. I feel like there was a knot with a hundred threads wich has finally been loosened and I'm actually scared about what comes next. What to do with all the threads that came loose? Coping with everything that came out of this is going to be pure trauma.
Aaaaaaah!
I mean, the breakthrough has happened, but now Grimmjow must not go back to wallow in his own thoughts, and seeing that he finally considered the 'thing' with Kurosaki as a 'thing' that is there between the two of them that actually might be the case...
Dealing with game emotions, family issues, Ichigo stuff... Panic

I'm just on the edge of my seat, waiting for the drop... I think Grimmjow is so spot on with his braggadocio and swagger, all the while letting things undermine his confidence with insecurity, defined by his "are you looking down on me" complex. Your Urahara does not disappoint, I so enjoy his snark and smarmy self. The camaraderie emerging on the ice finally, ah yes, such a smooth elixir. Good show, much love for the chapters.

A frigging update yas! I was just binge reading this earlier today and now there's a new chapter! I love it. I love seeing Grimmjow so happy again, and Ichigo so happy for him. Dammit guys just kiss already!
Also I was just watching HIMYM and came upon that episode where Robin made out with her hockey teammate and her Dad caught them. "Teammates don't kiss! Hockey players don't kiss!" He says. And it led me to reading this whole fic again. (Please make them kiss I'm begging you. It doesn't matter when)
It always completes my day whenever you update. I drop everything (and I mean everything) whenever I get a notification. Thank you for this! I hope there's more coming soon!

It is stunning. I love being able to see Grimmjow and Ichigo both grow in their own ways in this fic. I'm so fired up because of this chapter!
I loved this sentence: "brown eyes full of last straws" it was a really funny way to show how Ichigo's so done with everything XD
Grimmjow's whining is awesome. Olympic levels of whining. Give the man a prize.
I imagine him behaving like this while surrounded by the team. I dunno if he would ever let himself... But man, it would be so fun! They would probably think the injury finally turned him mad.
I love that he can go from exerting himself to the limit, super serious, bitter and competitive, to chatter Ichigo's ear off like his life depends on it.
It shows that he's really in a shitty period of his life.
Phiyically set back, technically imperfect, struggling to get back while finding out that this miracle coach that should help is not only painfully similar to the Reaper's one but also a uncorregible nutcase. And all this without mentioning the 'Ichigo' problem!
I love his interaction with Urahara, and Ichigo's reactions were interesting too. I like it that underneath all the respect he's harbouring for the man his behavior still manages to irritate him. Ichigo's tendency to keep things bottled up is so him... I can't wait for the next time Grimmjow makes him blow up.

1st- I fucking love your story and will be waiting for the next instalment no matter how ling you take boo :)
2nd-I'm all for Grimmjow being a dick and stuff becuase its his nature, but as the story progressed and we got to see underneth and get to know why he is the way he is, I just see one thing that kinda struck me as odd. Your version of grimmjow takes any offense at even mentioning his dad or his family so why would he pick on other peoples family expecially after the fact he found out Ichigo lost his mother? It seems like the topic of loosing a parent would be taboo for him to even think about messing around with or even to just cruelly joke about to get a rise out of Ichigo. Maybe it was just them trying to forget they had a moment but it just seems...fucked up. Grimmjow is a heartfelt person in this story and he does blunder and throw shit out of that filthy mouth of his that he doesn't mean or didn't think twice about, but I feel like your Grimmjow would draw the line at bringing dead parents into the mix even in a joking manner.
What are your thoughts? I wanna know if his "ur mom jokes" even cross his mind about being off limits now that he found out about inchigos mom or if he doesn't give a shit and only cares for himself still.

Maybe it was just them trying to forget they had a moment but it just seems...fucked up. Grimmjow is a heartfelt person in this story and he does blunder and throw shit out of that filthy mouth of his that he doesn't mean or didn't think twice about, but I feel like your Grimmjow would draw the line at bringing dead parents into the mix even in a joking manner.
What are your thoughts? I wanna know if his "ur mom jokes" even cross his mind about being off limits now that he found out about inchigos mom or if he doesn't give a shit and only cares for himself still.
