I noticed in the "I kissed a girl" competition thread that this was your entry and I was intrigued by the title. This was rather sad, but I liked the way you described it. The way the 'it is not love' kept coming back made it like we were listening to Marlene telling herself that over and over again, trying to reason with herself that it's just not possible that she is in love with Alice. It's not a pairing I came across before. Great that she sticks for Alice, though it's funny she should only respond to the 'dyke' part. It is actually kinda sad that she doesn't allow herself this happiness, because [love is for a boy and a girl, not for two girls]. I think that sentence showed the mixed feelings she must be having (the mixed feelings a lot of homosexuals (men or women) are probably experiencing at some point).
{Marlene is fire, get too close and get burned.} I loved that phrase.

aww :( this was sad, I would love you to turn it into a proper story, it would be very interesting to read as I don't think I've ever read a Marlene/Alice fanfic before
