Toichi becoming Kaito is actually a pretty interesting idea. You'd have to do an AU version with all the resulting changes (Kaito not meeting Aoko at age 6 or 7, for example), but it has a lot of potential for drama. How does Toichi deal with becoming Kaito? If he loses his memories, then how does he deal with remembering that his mother is actually his wife when he regains them? How did Chikage explain Kaito's presence? Who else knows? Does Hakuba find anything suspicious in his research of Kaito's background? Is Ai in even more danger from the Organization if she takes Pandora when she leaves? Will Vermouth steal Pandora from Ai? Are there any differences in the results of Pandora's tears of immortality (only working when a certain comet passes) and the results of the apotoxin? So many possibilities..
If you're not going to continue the storyline, then can you please post it as a weekly challenge on manycases1truth . livejournal . com? It's not very busy these days, but I'm hoping that someone will be interested enough to expand this.
