An amazing story, this one. And your comparing Rumpel to 'a toxic spill' made me smile. The similarities are staggering, indeed: both are unexpected, all-pervasive and not to be trifled with. And, you know, more or less the same colour :-)

BUT IT'S A BEATIFUL FIC
AND I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT :3

P.S. There's only one lil' thing: I'm not sure if it's a typo or one of the nasty tricks ff. net does to uploaded documents, but you seem to be missing fullstops at the ends of sentences... :)
