This is a brilliant piece of fanfiction, I haven't read a story before that sucessfully faced a problem without a solution, the temptation to try and give everyone a happy ending is really strong but the effect and the added realism acheived by leaving it at a point where they know they will never have a happy ending is definitely stronger than any fairy tail ending could be. This is much more believable as an issue that a pair of clever, kind, men really wouldn't be able to solve without hurting someone, it conveys the impossibility of a situation in which every solution will result in hurting at least yourself. A breathtaking story.

Aaawww, c'mon, where's the rest? This is the best tour Frerard I've read! Far more realistic - besides Frank coughing up blood and nobody getting him to a hospital or something. This is going on Story Alerts, and maybe Favourites if I like the next update (which I'm sure I will) :). xx
