Now, this was amazing! I can't quite decide which part I liked the most. But, I can say this: your way of describing Lottie's surroundings (as well as her thoughts) is really impressive. :)
I'm a bit surprised that she agreed on Nixon's idea regarding Alfie. That choice definitely wasn't easy for her... I just hope that Alfie will be okay in the end.

By the way, thank you for reading my story! It would be really nice to hear from you again. :)

Vintage Cow Girl - I have been keeping up with your story ever since you posted the first chapter, but it is only this one that has prompted me to write a review. Now, I want you to understand that I know you have respect for these men. They were real people, teenagers and young men with lives that could have been spent just being kids and doing things they loved. But they volunteered their lives and gave up everything for their country. You have a deep admiration for that. I can feel it when you write, literally feel it. I get it. I do. Anyway, back to what I was saying, and I will try my best to not make this sound like a furious accusation or simply a hateful comment. Bull (in "Breathe Me" only) is very out of character. I do not believe for a second, having watched how he was portrayed in Band of Brothers, that he would shoot a man in the middle of an aid station filled with soldiers who are either dead, dying or in extreme amounts of pain. Do you remember the episode when the drunk GI shot Sergeant Grant? And how he was brought back to Easy's headquarters and beaten on by the guys, then Speirs showed up and pointed that gun at him, and everyone stepped back like they were saying, "Whoa, we weren't even thinking of this." Because, and I think Speirs may have had the same idea in mind, who would want to take a life away so quickly? Speirs wanted him to suffer like Grant was suffering, not give him a quick way out. And that's the only problem I had with the scene in Chapter 27, because I firmly believe Bull would have wanted the same thing. Other than that, Loretta was strong and brave and beautiful and the most courageous (and not in the least bit a Mary Sue) woman ever. So, in conclusion, all I am asking is that you keep these amazing men in character and please, please don't make them do things just because Loretta is female. I'll also play devil's advocate and say that she probably would punch somebody in the jaw if they tried anything, like Doc said. Okay. That pretty much sum up my rant thing. I cannot wait to read what's next. Good luck. God bless, and Currahee.

Oh, poor Loretta... at one point, I got really worried for her. The guys shouldn't have talked about her like that, especially after all she had been through... By the way, it was really sweet to see Bull and her together at the end of the chapter. I hope that their story will have a happy ending :)
I can hardly wait for the next chapter! Keep up the good work and have a lovely day!
