interesting chapter.
Naruto must be choked that in less than a year, suna give the hat to someone they seen as merciless psychopath monster who attacked even fellow villagers when naruto for saving his own village from destruction and convince the next hokage candidate to take the hat was rewarded with banishment.
Ask who was the one who talked to karin at the end. naruto or clone under henge? naruto teammate? konoha rookie?
It can't be a sasuke relative since they don't know naruto, neither orochimaru otherwise he would have killed or punished karin to admit a betrayal. Kinda hope karin will join naruto, after all, uzumaki should stand together.

You do realise the chunin exams are not the only way to be promoted to chunin right
The purpose of them was for the villages to try to gather more clients more missions for by showing off their ninjas talent remember in the chunin exam only about 10 ninja could be promoted by it but in the 4th Shinobi war each village had over thousands of jonunn and chunin to fight in the war
So naruto could have been promoted any time by the mizukage
