This is the best scene I've read yet with regards to Percy and Annabeth falling into Tartarus (and I've read a ton!). I noticed a couple tense issues (ie. you used "surging" when you should have used "surged"). Besides that I really, really liked it. I know you said it would only be a one-shot, but it would be really cool if you did elaborate on it. You wouldn't have to write a full-out House of Hades fanfic, but you could write about Percy's and Annabeth's experiences in Tartarus. Overall, though, great job!
