You know, I didn't actually take Cornelia's ghost into account. I just thought Evangeline killed Lady Elbereth, so I thought, 'Leon, you are an idiot.'
But then, maybe I was.
Might-Have-Beens. Haha. That reminds me of the book A Swiftly Tilting Planet. I think that's what it's called. It's by Madeleine L'engle, I think. It's a companion novel to A Wrinkle in Time.
Anyways, I loved your story!

I'm a bit late on this review, but I didn't think you'd mind since I bothered to review anyway. :p
I thought it was a nice chapter. I only spotted one mistake:
( "Fine, fine," he snapped, "I'm clean some boots as my penitence. But if you expect me to beg at the feet of that woman-")
You could change the 'clean' to 'cleaning' or the 'I'm' to 'I'll'. Sorry, it just sort of bothered me. But don't worry, I correct people all the time. They find me very annoying.
But anyway, I loved your story!
