I really enjoyed this chapter. I like how everyone is starting to think about the future and what they should do next. I loved Wash & Tom's interaction and hope to see more. I also enjoyed the end when Sybil realizes that the Alliance isn't all sunflower and Daisies.

I like this a lot! i didn't think it would work (Edwardian/Western space operas...hmmm), but it actually does, and with one of the most creative ways to engineer a crossover. keep going with this...the culture shock should be interesting. i'm hoping Inara didn't go on holiday-it should be fun to see how the Downtonians react to her being a card-carrying member of the Oldest Profession, and the respectability of it in the 'Verse!

Omigosh, is Mrs. Crowley a... I'm not even sure what to call her. An Alliance agent? No matter, it's an excellent chapter. I do miss Edith, and feel very badly for the family that's left behind. If they're going a little stir crazy what are the servants doing? At the house they'd have their various jobs, so I'm interested to see what kind of below-stairs lives you've given them in such cramped quarters.

Now that I've finally watched Firefly (two weeks ago *cough*), I've finally gotten around to reading this. And I have no idea why I put off reading this for two weeks! Agh! You write so well, and the characterisations are fantastic.
And is that a Tom-Kaylee-Simon-Sybil romantic misunderstanding I see brewing? Because if it is, I cannot wait for them trying to work through that mess.

I know I said you could have killed more regulars & this would have been believable, but I am hoping against hope that Will makes it this time! Anywho, lovely chapter. Poor "Rob" and all the family...poor Edith.

Though I love Edith and Mrs Patmore I understand, and Mrs Patmore death while tragic, was well done. Edith was so horrid though! But don't worry! I still want to read this story very much!
