I just love Hayffie. And Suzanne Collins' lovely sandbox for us to play in, too!
They're done well in this fic. I love their banter, and I love the ending. I'm such a sucker for a happy ending!
I like the acknowledgement that Effie kind of saved Haymitch, but he also kind of saved her. They saved each other, which is what makes their romance so lovely. If only it were canon! :P

You humanize Effie, literally take her out of her wig and outrageous attire, and find beneath it all a human - one with emotions, ambitions, doubts, fears, and heartfelt compassion. Yes, OCC for both H & E - yet its shows well one avenue of how things could be developing off-stage as the Hunger Games movie plays before our eyes or the book's pages turn through our hands. Thank you for a warm and inspiring tale.
