So I finally caught up with this story, and it looks like just at the point where things are getting tense. Don't trust Phora. She has to be here for Asura who shouldn't kid herself to think otherwise.
So Samara left to get help? And Jack still hasn't talked to Abby and Chakwas is keeping an eye on Shepard for her mom.
I'm glad Shepard is taking more people to the Alpha Relay, even though it's a smaller group it's better than going by herself. Hope Samara makes there with them.
Love every bit of Mordin in this. Gotta love a man who likes Judy Garland. lol.

Lots of interesting twists to this story. Getting two Justicars onto Omega is interesting, particularly when one seems so ... determined in a very raw, ruthless kind of way. Putting Asura with her is definitely an attention-getter.
Your study of how the Normandy crew worries about Shepherd is also thoughtful and in some ways I'd encourage you to think on this further though of course if Samara is drawn back into things fully, (or, conversely, thrown further from the center of things), this may offer its own opportunity for study of the characters and how their loyalties and emotions intertwine.
Thanks for a good read so far, I look forward to further installments.

You really know how to build suspense. And tension, can't forget the tension. Having Asura partner with Phora was a brilliant move! Putting her in a situation where she is forced to contemplate the effects of an Ardat-Yaksi on others will no doubt lead to a ton of introspection and character development.
On the other hand, I don't know what to make of the scenes in batarian space. They have some plot development, but they mostly feel like filler.
In any case, I look forward to the next chapter!

So it was only recently that I played through the Citadel DLC for ME3, and after seeing that absolutely beautiful moment with Samara that people have been waiting for for years, I decided I wanted to read some Femshep x Samara fics, as it has been awhile since I've last read some. When I saw the words "sequel to Shadow Play" in the summary of this, I almost died of happiness. It blew my mind that you made a sequel to it months ago and I never knew about it. You don't even know how much I've been missing these stories.
Your writing is as brilliant as ever. Very few grammatical errors, and the sentences really flow and display so much charring emotion. Abby's feelings towards her varren patient are very heartwarming and can remind everyone of why we love having pets so much. It continues to give me butterflies how protective Asura is of Abby; my love for your couple glows brighter and brighter with each chapter. How distant Jack has become and the denial she feels towards any type of friendship she had with Abby is something many people can relate to, and I think you're pulling off the emotions of that wonderfully. Every time Shepard thinks of Samara or vise versa, your storytelling of their feelings and emotions just touches me so deeply; it's been several months since I've read A Degeneration in Mass, yet reading this has reminded me that the cracks in my heart when Samara left Shepard are still achingly there. I absolutely adore the way you portray their relationship, it just adds so much depth to everything BioWare didn't bother to include. No other writer I've seen so far has ever done Samara and the Femshep x Samara pairing in general so much justice, and I don't think any other writer ever will.
Thus, I will repeat, I have missed these stories, and you have no idea how happy I am that you are back. Now that Shepard's story in the games is entirely over, I must rely on fanfics to fill the hole in my heart, and to me, there's no other stories that can fill that hole more than yours. I very much look forward to your next update! :)

Oz the varren? That's awesome! Better than Dog at least (much less likely to be confused for another creature, given her profession). Also, I love how you wrote him. He came across as extremely intelligent and worried about Abby's welfare. I look forward to seeing him in future chapters!
On another note, I am curious about what Phora is hunting. I can easily envision it not being Assura, and in fact, it being the same thing Aria sends Assura to hunt herself. That would definitely be an interesting twist.

I like Oz for a name :) I also like how conflicted you are portraying Samara...and I suspect things are only going to get worse from here when it comes to making the decision between immediately killing 300k people (I believe there were only 90k batarians and the rest were other races (probably slaves)) and giving the rest of the galaxy several more months to prepare vs letting the Reapers begin their attack immediately.
Personally I suspect the Reapers still would have struck the batarian systems first just to make the ground troops they needed to attack everyone else.
I'm still hoping for Abby and Asura to start a romantic relationship :)

Why do I have the horrible feeling that Phora was watching that entire conversation? The part where Samara said she had turned her back on her code would be particularly interesting for one such as her.
Also, the tidbit of information on how Abby and Asura were begining to be able to sense each other's thoughts was interesting. Keep up the good work!
