This endearing story grows as I read into it. It becomes a delight, including its well-told, bittersweet ending. I really like how you place this story, done as a brief interlude to Katniss & Rue's time in the arena. You weave both a basis from where this story springs and a really insightful conclusion which leads back into the original story's action. The meaning of Katnip's district token is given a new shine!
