2some messy life
This is my first review ever. I usually don’t like writing reviews, but this absolutely needs one.
This story is amazing. It really hits home because I’ve somewhat experienced it (minus the relationship part). Long story, but let’s just say I’m going through something similar with someone who’s not in a relationship with me (weird but it means I can’t “break up” with him)
I know Natsu is kinda OC here, but I wholeheartedly support whatever you’re trying to put across here ))
Definitely makes me wanna write a GrayLu fanfic. I already wrote a NaLu one, but I’m considering switching my loyalties to a GrayLu because Gray is so much better than Natsu and GrayLu fanfics are a lot nicer imo
But that’s just my opinion

I do agree that it's a well written story...
BUT I have one problem...Natsu is not "Natsu" in any way in this story. The guy would do everything in his power to protect Lucy so there is absolutely NO way he would be...whatever he is in this story...that's what I believe

To Doom Master 55:
So sad. You totally missed the lesson in the story: the nicest people can be unintentionally abusive, that is NOT okay, and no matter how much everyone thinks "you're a perfect couple," the person being abused SHOULD LEAVE.
Obnoxious people like this inspire me to write more stories about domestic abuse, because it's obvious that some people DON'T GET IT. It can happen to anyone. My first boyfriend was a goofy, nerdy, overweight, saxophone-playing Mormon with ramen-curl hair and glasses. We were frequently referred to as "a fairy tale couple," and every time our friends said that, I internally thought "yeah, a Grimm's story!"
He was a doting boyfriend in public, lavishing me with gifts... and in private he dragged me across the floor by my hair, kicked me in the stomach, frequently insulted my chest size, pinned my wrists down if I ever dared try to stop him from touching me, told me I couldn't break up with him because I'd never find another boyfriend with my homely looks, and he HAD to cheat on me because I had no boobs, it's my own fault he can't be fully satisfied, I should feel HONORED that he even bothered to buy me anything. In the end, he bashed my head into a wall as he attempted to rape me and only stopped because I put up a hellish fight.
And none of my high school friends believed he could be as awful as he was. They saw a goofy, lovable band geek. They never saw him enraged because I dared to tell him "No!" And since my friends didn't believe me, I never had the courage to report the attempted rape to police.
It can happen with the couple you think is perfect, the man you think is so refined, the woman who acts dainty in public and hits her partner at home because she thinks her tiny size means she's allowed to.
Doom Master 55 is notorious in the Fairy Tail fanfic community, but to go after "Cold, Gray Winter," a story about the cruel realities of domestic abuse, PURPOSELY using NaLu because it's the most popular ship (hey, I ship them too, but it's to prove a point) I have to guess that DM55 is abusive in their own life. Why else would they react so strongly negative to a story like that, unless it stings to see their own demons in the mirror held up by literature!
So I need to write MORE to educate readers that it is okay to get out of a bad relationship, it does not make you weak, it does not make you a "quitter." Male or female or whatever, if your partner is abusive, GET OUT OF THAT RELATIONSHIP NOW.

Complete bullshit written by some dumb gray fangirl who doesn't understand how these characters work. Natsu would never abuse Lucy and Lucy is not some weak waif that needs to run to another man to fix her problems. Total garbage quit writing.

I don't usually write reviews. Actually, I've never written one before. But I just needed to say that, this fic is beautiful. Not just in the use of language, but in the way it tells the story. A lot of it makes sense if you've gone through something similar. To me it really speaks to how a situation like this would effect someone's mind. Also, I think it's realistic on how the charecters themselves would react. I know that I would react similarly to Lucy, myself. I sincerely appreciate you for making this one shot, and keep up the good work.

I think this fanfic was awesome! Don't pay attention to 'Guest' because he's just being a jackass. Please write more!

I love the point this story brings to everyone's, who reads this, attention. You had a wonderful idea and just flew off with it. Nice job.

Hi, I sent u an anonymous ask earlier today about this story. Well, I read it! I gotta say, I liked it a lot. For a few months my husband got abusive, not horribly so, but he did hit me when he got extremely angry at me. I was tempted to leave until I told him that just being around him scared me. He changed after that. It wasn't an overnight change, but I'm pleased to say it's been over 3 years since he last hit me. People make mistakes, and I realize that not all people can change, but thank you for writing this story. I'm glad I read this.

Oh look another retarded talentless hack that turns Natsu into a one-dimensional bad guy because she's a lazy ponce who can't write a good romance.

I don't think what Natsu did was right. Dear me, no it was terrible. But Lucy and Gray's resolve wasn't the best either. I think this fan fiction is shit. Fuck you Rhov. Bitch.

I feel like I shouldn't like this story. I shouldn't like a story where one of my personal favorite ships(Graylu) happened because of abuse caused by my favorite character (Natsu). But, oh my goodness, this story was amazing. None of the characters were OOC (Especially Natsu, given the subject) and this was a great way to bring up discussion about abuse. I would say the only problem I have is that we're only told Natsu ends up dating Lisanna with no real indication that he's changed. It doesn't ruin the story, but it's a bit disconcerting to read. Keep up the good work.
