oh, i was afraid of that. even though merlin would have appreciated his older self being around, it really wasn't going to happen that way, was it? and dying to save his younger self - or everyone, really - yep, that's merlin no matter what age.
i love that point. destiny said, his magic was for arthur, but it's no one else's decision but his, that he became arthur's friend. :)

ah, now i see - jeremy had seen old dragoon, and dreamed of him...
and, of course, morgana would turn on them when she saw an opportune moment - glad they all cooperated against her though - and i'm glad arthur hasn't had issues with either farrell or old merlin's magic!

okay, so - boxes, beatrice, dreams, monster - and it's arthur's fault indirectly for attacking beatrice and damaging/taking her possessions - i got that, but what about old merlin, where'd he come from? jeremy dreamed him?

this is a good start - i don't know how many stories i've read that begin this way, but yours is fresh and upbeat. i like merlin in a good mood, too - but of course, that's when sh*t happens, right?...
i can't think that arthur's arm hurting from a stray curse is a good thing - this isn't over, just beginning...
