i was so happy when i got the notification that you updated! i’m so hyped to read the rest of this story, i already reread it since my last comment.

as soon as i saw the chapter title, i immediately knew what was in store :( i’m going to miss renée. this mission was such a blessing for jess to get her away from bastogne. that escape from the germans was so cool. the little moment with gene was so cute, giving her the bandage to cover her hair and covering her hair for her, awww. ALSO THE CHEEK KISS! i’m just waiting for someone to figure out they’re together. gene’s gonna be worried about her when he arrives at bastogne if he doesn’t see her first, he might think she made it back already and was in the bombing. i’m assuming that jess will be sent to the line with the boys now, having no where else to go, and i’m happy her and gene will be in the same space again! gene really needs her.

thanks for the update, i loved it and i’m excited for more!

i’m new to the band of brothers fandom, i binged the show and fell in love with eugene, scrounged the internet for fanfiction, found yours, and read the whole thing in like three days! i love jess, she’s such a badass, and you write eugene so well! there have been so many cute moments between them and they’re my new OTP! i especially love all the moments where he takes care of her and how she brings out a protective/fighter side of him when needed. i also like how you’ve added so much more to the plot rather than strictly following the show’s storyline. i know you haven’t updated this in almost 6 years so i’m not even sure if you’ll ever read my comment but if you do i assure you if you ever update again that you still have people who want to read your story! i hope you choose to continue it someday bc i love it so much

I was right there with you until this chapter.

***SPOILERS***

There's no way that the army would have a civilian, with basically no experience suddenly jump right in. I understand that you want to get Jess into the action, but this is too unbelievable. All that said, I'll keep reading but I had to get that out there.

Hahahahaha! My first thought after the end of the story was: do you watch kdramas? But I digress. I've enjoyed your story so far!

Excellent Chapter. I was absent for a while but now I will read all you made as it makes me really happy. You give us in your writing great characters descriptions and deep understanding of their needs and circumstances. Great work all Chapters you made.

I'm glad you're back, as always!
This chapter was emotionally hard with all those scenes in the church; It's in moments like these when you can appreciate all work of combat medics and nurses. Poor Jess playing this roll. You've described very well her feelings in a such bad situation.

I wish you could update soon, and as always, congrats for your job.

By the way, i think could be a good idea put a previously with each new chapter, because it's too much time since the previous and could be difficult remember everything.

See you!

Hi ChocWelcome back, friend. You managed to pull the rug out from under me with that fucking comeback so thanks.

Let's get to it.

Fucking Bill doing 'Wild Bill' shit. It was expected, honestly. Would it be him if he stayed?...Not really, no. Sadly we all know he'll be back in with minus one leg.

The reunion between Jess and Gene was underwhelming and very...quiet and I absolutely loved it because it was oddly befitting of them. Even so, it grieved me a little to feel that leftover bite to his words and the cold silence Gene's been giving ma girl Jess. It's pretty low of him, to be honest. He needs to get his shit together, man.
I'm very antsy for Jess to get back into action, I've realized, because I enjoy reading about her doing her thing and the atmosphere at the hospital-not withstanding Reneé because she's amazing and we're blessed to have her-feels so very mundane and domestic compared to the chaos of war (I think it's supposed to feel like that) and her usual daring acts. I get a feeling she might be a little bored or antsy as well.
As always, Denham is either acting a despicable bastard or being varying levels of shady. I was excited to see Spina in this chapter, though I was confused because I was like '...who tf is Ralph *thinks* Ralph *thinks harder*...SPINA OH MY GOD' and that injury sounded scary to look at because it sounded like he was mildly impaled. Skinny is always a blessing, of course, I love him. Reneé being able to see right through their tension is classic Reneé, honestly. It was dead on to what I expected. Will she help them resolve it, I wonder? Will she set things straight?
The bandage scene was peaceful and I just wanted them to love each other and make out or something. They certainly deserve time to each other just to be happy.
Wonderful chapter. I'll be waiting for more. Sorry for the long review.

Oh, dear very cruel that end, i can't wait for reading more. I hope you update soon!
I loved the scene between Jess and Gene, was beautiful and necessary, and of course Bill in the action scene; That was great!

As always, i'm anxious for more and more!

I do love your writing style as well as deep connection to story. You lead us through many detais and situations I never expirienced in other stories. Great ...
Emotional moments are lovely again ... , I wish you give us more in chapters to come ... as they are humans in hard war times where emotions for family and themselves in the field kept them move on and surrive the day ...
Looking worward to read more as soon as possible .
Great work ! Well done! Bravo !

Dear Choc,
I read the chapter and it's definitely a bit of a tease when it comes to Jess and Eugene. From one side, I understand Jess' anger at Eugene completely. What he said was a bit of a nightmare come true-and it was a undeserved, despite the recklessness. From Eugene's side, I get that he wants to protect her and all, but there's ways to do it, man, and telling her these things and acting like you're right to protect her even in ways she disagrees with is not the way to go.
On the whole though, the stalemate-the line they have drawn in the sand between them is difficult. When I first heard them brush off the whole apology thing, it was painful to hear. Perhaps because I am an angsty type of person and it sounded a bit...childish when the things said in anger were kinda deep, so I hope they get around to maybe talking it out seriously. That would be nice.
But that kiss though. Damn Choc! BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THEM SPICY CAJUN KISSES :)
Ps:
I do feel like Renee is going to help fix shit between them like * le rolls eyes* WHY DID YOU DO THIS, MON AMI? I'm sensing a whole wingwoman type thing developing with Renee here.
Excellent chapter. I can't wait for more from you.
Sincerely,
Velanburg

Finally a new chapter! i'm so glad you're back, was a long time since the previous chapter.

As always i loved it, and i'm looking forward to reading the next, and above all, the meeting between Roe and Jess, OMG, that will be fucking amazing.
I hope also that Renee and Jess can develope more their bond, it would be very interesting! And also i loved that you introduced that brief scene between Bill and Jess.

Congrats, and please, back soon!
