I really like where you're going with this. I think Violet has a real following here. Please keep writing, can't wait to see more. Can't wait to see who falls for her. Course in my opinion, it should be the Captain. :) Really loved the scene where she curtsied! Keep up the great work.

Oh. MY GOSH. This is AMAZING. I finally found fanfiction for this genre that ISN'T CRAP! And it does NOT read like fanfiction; it reads like a book! Congratulations to you, my friend, on your excellent story!
Your story makes me very happy, as it greatly reminds me of the historical fiction novel I am currently writing. Except my story takes place 120 years beforehand and is centered around pirates. The Royal Navy does come into the plot, and similarly to your story, my lead female character is in an arranged marriage, only she does not realize her future husband is corrupt for the better part of the story.
Once again, congratulations on your incredible story! If you discontinue this story... I won't want to live on this planet anymore! Lol :) Please keep writing!

Holy cow this is SOOOOO good! It reads so well that it actually feels like original fiction! If it were from a canon character's POV, I wouldn't have known that Mr. DuVere was an OC (as I don't know the actual story well AT ALL, but usually you can figure out who the OC's are...daggum Sues, and I'm pleased to say that Violet is NOT one!) This reminds me a bit of the novel I'm writing, except mine takes place on land during the American Revolution and my character's motives for her ruse are mainly very different. IF YOU DO NOT UPDATE, I WILL CRY. Like a little baby. And I do NOT cry. Please update soon! I LOVE IT!

Awesome fic so far. Very well written - I'm impressed. I'm also really looking forward to seeing where ur headed with it. I desperately hope she ends up with Jack. I feel he's underappreciated despite being a total heartthrob with an awesome personality. I will just point out that in the Royal Navy as portrayed by Patrick O'Brian the left side of a ship is the larbord side. If u want some help with terminology I would really recommend reading at least the first book. They're fantastically written and provide good visuals and some interesting sailing tactics, as well as giving good insight into the main characters and life in general aboard a sailing ship. Thanks for writing and writing well.
