What am I reading here exactly? They seem like the jealous ravings of a teenage boy. Making Harry and Hermione be caricatures and the whole woe is me, I need to go away to feel my pain with Ron. Hermione is getting punched down by every character because the author can't explain the choices made. Like, if it's seriously odd then wouldn't someone check for confounding or potions or whatever

Do you know that feeling?
When you meet a really talented writer and you know you'll never read him/her again...?

If I had to define this fic in one word, I'd say it's, fun.
I started reading it with reluctance. To the point that I checked the last chapter to confirm that it was complete and it was a Romione pairing. You have to understand. Sixty-three chapters is unusual and starting with a Hermione/Draco pairing is at the limit of my stomach tolerance.
But it had a good plot, Ron's vindication was fair and the touches of humour were delightful.
Some passages fell short for me. I would have liked more of Ron and Padma but I understand her position and it seemed coherent. She's not a child. She's a woman in wartime and she's not there to teach little soldiers how to deal with their insecurities. When you turn the page I'll give you a good shag, she came to say.
Other passages were left so open-ended that the spinoff could be a reality at any moment, so all in all, I had fun reading it and it's already part of my favourites list.
It's been a while and it looks like you've kept your word to end your writing, I'm sorry. I had a good time reading your works except for the consequences of a lost love. I'm sorry I didn't even look at it when I saw what it was about. I don't have a masochist bone in me. But it doesn't mean I don't want to read you again and so...

Take out Charlie's death and simply put in Hermione's guilt for putting Ron at risk until he was badly hurt and it wouldn't affect the text and line of the chapter at all.
Fortunately, I see that Harry has his priorities in order.

Yes, dealing with death matures children, but haven't they seen too much death already?
It's a war, okay.
It's your story, okay.
But you shouldn't have killed Charlie.

It is not so much a question of whether he or she writes male or female, but of the perception of the two of them.
The reality is, and the films made a mess of Ron to empower Hermione, that most writers see him as the more insecure part of the couple. Never mind that Hermione's insecurities started much earlier. That she is older than him by 6 months and that boys mature much later than girls.
Put that in the shaker, shake it up and you get a habitually underrated Ron.
By the way.
The bad boy part is painfully close to reality.

Aaah. The emotional scars of Hermione and Molly's baking were so much fun to read.

Let's see.
I hope that at some point we will be able to know the literal wording of Dolohov's letter.
In any case, it would be unforgivable not to publish Mr Granger's letter.
The scene in the boys' dormitory is a Top-Ten in Hermione/Ron interactions...It has it all!
It's got comedy, it's got sentiment, it's got vindication, it's got righteous anger, it's got Dean's instinctive intelligence. It's a marvel!
"...And they call me slow..." I love it!
I don't think there's a better opening to a scene where the sky is going to fall on their heads.

Oh, please!
This chapter is begging the heavens for a spin-off to be written about everything that happened between Mr. and Mrs. Granger after Ron left.
So much to tell. So many possibilities. So much reconciliation fluff...
Wonderfull!

If Ron writes that along with the good he's doing in the reserve, another of the reasons he's staying is to avoid the pain of being reunited with Hermione, you get an EPIC chapter.

There, there, Padma. Don't give him a chance to get away (I love it when you write what I'd love to see happen).
I just realised... Jane... it's Rose.
