I must admit, I am finding your story utterly gripping. I enjoy your unique take on the relationship between Jack and Jamie, and I find it fascinating to watch them interact here. The "bond" concept too is very interesting, and after reading your previous story of one-shots which introduced it, I was hooked.
In this chapter, specifically, I loved Jack and Jamie's short talk about Jamie's father- I was wondering what your explanation would be. Though I can't help but wonder at the distance Jack seems to be keeping... When Jack retreated to sleep elsewhere, I was jolted. I didn't realize how perfectly you had set up the status-quo of Jack and Jamie's closeness, (even in sleep as it is), for the reader until Jack suddenly jumped out of the normalcy you had created. I literally furrowed my eyebrows and started mouthing questions as I read. As a reader, it has become customary for me to expect to see them together in sleep, and you did that wonderfully without my noticing. Wonderful job!
Why are both Jamie and Jack struggling to hear one another's thoughts? What, specifically, was done to the child in the casket? What was the strange chuckling that Jamie heard? What does Jamie hear on the wind? I can't wait to discover the answers to these burning questions- please update soon, my friend. :)

I am grinning SO hard right now! It is so great to see a new chapter of this story so soon! As with the rest of the story, I love the interaction between Jack and Jamie - it's such an interesting combination of paternal, friendship, and sibling love, and you're capturing it so well while all the time you're letting the plot develop. So, thank you very much for the update! I'm quite curious to see where their jaunt down to the cellar leads them...
