Interesting. A "maybe" already, I was expecting it to be a little bit. I like Tracey so far, she seems like fun and is happy to verbally spar, which would do Harry some good. He can spar all he wants with Illyria, but she will always come out ahead (or nearly always, anyway), so maybe he could win every now and again with Tracey. Thank you for writing and sharing :)

A great world building/character growth chapter and I agree with Harry getting to know the prospective partners before jumping into bed with them.
I know you brought this up at the end, but I've been very surprised by the lack of showing how people have reacted to Harry's new look. Considering how people are obsessed with him, the lack of scar (let alone the hair and eye colours) should have gotten a reaction. Although, it's possible you just skipped it.

Oh the irony...
While I sympathize with your loss on one level, and sincerely hope yiu find a new, better significant other? on another level I recall writing a review where I stated something was... unrealistic for a lasting relationshipwhich led to an argument where you, (or maybe her using the account?) attempted to use me being (at that moment) single to argue the opposite.
Now here I am, engaged to be married... and the reason for the rewrite is that she is gone.
Best of luck with the rewrite and life in general, but man, the irony.

i wonder where katie bell falls into by illyrias measures, on the one hand he had to interact with her and her fellow chasers quite a bit during training on the other hand except for training she does not feature in the books till 6th year when she ended up in hospital
so would having a talk with her count towards the 4 girls he has to talk to or not, cause if its the later then she might be an option with far less of a inhibition treshold for harry

I think I noted this in the last version of this chapter but canon Harry does not notice girl's chest size at all. Obviously this is an A/U but it doesn't hurt to acknowledge canon in this area particularly when one is objectifying women.

I've realised why I love this story even if it's a slow burn...Harry and Illyria are absolutely adorable!
Firstly, I'm impressed with your writing and how you can build up a scene and the characters within it without going into too much detail. There's enough that every chapter is meaty, but you aren't needlessly waffling or using overly flowery and obtuse language that pulls the reader out of the tale. People's reactions come across as realistic, and no one feels over the top. Even Ron's stupidity is realistic and believable to the point of him still being a potential best friend by the end of the story.
But Harry and Illyria really steal the show. I love how their connection has her being affectionate, while he is growing as a person while still having the social stunted Harry he was prior to the story's start. It comes across as they're changing each other through the bond, rather than it being a mostly one-sided relationship, even with her being an Eldritch being.
