for Young Justice: Darkness Falls

I read your explanation for Darkseid's execution of Savage. Thanks for that, it cleared things up a bit. Just be sure that the reader can get what you as an author can for the future.

It's certainly disheartening to see the team like this, and to learn that the reason Darkseid did as much damage as he did was because the government held the League back...I guess Steve Rogers had a point. I hope whoever's decision this was will be called out for it in the future. When you're facing an alien invasion, I'd imagine you'd use EVERY WEAPON POSSIBLE.

Good to see that the team will finally take on Godfrey. Here's hoping he gets his soon. I also can't help but think that Bart's data will ultimately doom the heroes and become self-fulfilling prophecies.

Guess I'll find out next time.

This certainly was quite an arc, where the ending left me confused. I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing just yet.

I was sad to see the Future Young Justice go, it's always cool to get post-apocalyptic versions of characters. But if they had a chance of winning, I guess there'd be no point to it.

The biggest shock, of course, is learning there's been a massive timeskip. I can see why some would question WTF is going on!?, but I think I get it. You WANT the reader to be just as confused as the characters are, and it makes the war so much scarier.

And yay! Wally's back...in a way none of us wanted.

Here we go with the Death of Superman again...you did a better job than ZS. I'll say that much.

Overall, solid arc with a strong conclusion, but I do have a few problems. First, Savage pretty much went out like a bitch. I know he's not superpowered, but as the Light's leader, I felt he should have had some kind of showdown. Maybe with Nightwing and Guardian, since they're both normal humans.

Also, didn't Darkseid ORDER for Dessad to have Superman fight Doomsday? Why is he throwing such a hissy fit now, and why is he blaming Savage?

While I understand what you're going for with the massive timeskip, I hope the next few chapters will fill us in on events that happened. Time will tell, I guess.

This is certainly quite interesting to see Bart travel in time again, only this time he's going to an alternate future. It reminds me of what I saw in BvS (not a great movie, but still), though I suppose apocalyptic futures kind of blend together.

It's cool that you've made apocalyptic versions of other DC characters, and yikes on the Krypto-Martian. Wonder how that happened?

I like how you made the parademons sort of like semi-vampires who can't operate when the sun is either coming up or setting. I'm anticipating the next chapter will be something akin to a horror story.

What can I say, but this. This story is a beautiful masterly crafted take on the YJ universe. I have loved reading every minute of it. If #Renew_Young_Justice succeeds, I sincerely hope that the series creators will view your work and hire you to be one of their writers.

Wow. That was a beatdown, and a tragic one at that. Way things are going down, I almost don't want Kara to turn. It was also clever of Savage to take Superman out of the equation like that, considering Luthor has probably been trying to do that for years. Now the Justice League and Team are more vulnerable than ever without their heavy hitters and I've a feeling it's only downhill from here.

The scene at that random gas station was pretty funny. Also enjoyed the interaction between Raven and Beast Boy. It was a nice touch showing Beast Boy wanting to help Cyborg, despite Raven's feelings against it.

The attack on the other three was tense, not only the action, but the silence as well. It was like a Young Justice version of I Am Legend. I read your notes that these are not actually Parademons, but I will say whatever they are, they are indeed terryifiying and the fact that they are programmed to go kamikaze makes them that much harder to deal with. It's kind of like the Wrath demons from Devil May Cry 3 (shoot it too many times, it will blow up. Don't do anything, it will still blow up).

Off to the next chapter for me!

Ouch! Artemis really gave Nightwing a verbal gut punch with that accusation. That is something I'm not going to forget anytime soon.

We're seeing the other leaguers and team members being accounted for, though I wonder how so many of them can be unconscious for days when they have powers.
It was cool to see Raven again, and the jumping from dream sequence to dream sequence was interesting. And of course you had to bring (evil) Cyborg back. Am a bit concerned that Raven's Trigon origins might get in the way of a story that's supposed to be Darkseid, but I suppose we'll see soon enough.

Oh god, I feel so sorry for M'gann. I now what it's like to eat strange food that I'm not really interested in trying. Really loving this story so far.

I really loved what u did for Con and M'gann, they deserved that after all they went through

This is beginning to remind me of the upcoming Civil War, except I'd imagine no one in the League is going to actually be on board for this.

It was pretty dark with the Genomorph massacre; I guess finding out they had a will of their own made them expendable once the Parademons were created.

And you just had to drop the Doomsday bomb, didn't you?

Interesting fact about glue. Thanks for that.

It's interesting to see the UN come down hard on the League; it was implied the League technically worked for them. I liked how you highlighted the xenophobia of some of their representatives towards their non-human members.

And of course, G. Gordon Godfrey turns public opinion against them. It's pretty incredible that he can do that after practically kissing the Reach's ass when they first arrived. Then again, considering today's political climate, doesn't surprise me.

It's cool you linked the Genomorphs and Parademons together. One major problem I have with both DC and Marvel is that they create so many mythos that it can be hard to connect them all, even taking into account shorter time periods. This does give everything that happened a sense of purpose. Also liked the autopsy of the PD; it was cool to explain the biology of a fictional creature.

I wonder what Aqualad and the others will find.

Well, I'll see you there!

You've done a great job of setting up tension with this chapter. Trauma is evident on everyone looking for survivors, and it feels like one of the darker moments of a good super hero movie. I'm guessing Impulse being in his time machine at the time is a major clue to where he is headed.

What a way to start the New Year. After things were going so well for the team, they were caught with their pants down in the one area they'd thought they would be safe.

Couldn't help but notice Bart was hurled into his Time Machine. I wonder...

I thought Oliver of all people would have come prepared, since both he and Batman are normal human beings.

The one I'm really worried about is Beast Boy. Hope he makes it out alright.

On another note, I could have imagined a conversation between Superboy and Nightwing going like this at this moment:
NW: Superboy?
SB: Yeah?
NW: Tell me...do you bleed?
SB:...
(Parademon crashes the party and mauls Superboy)
NW: NEVER MIND!

Very sweet moment for Zatanna. Hope by the end of this Fate will release Zatara.

The SuperboyXMartain relationship is coming along beautifully and naturally. I'm really impressed how you make it feel very romantic without making it all feel forced either.

Overall, this was a nice break from all the action. I've a feeling shit's about to get real.
