A new chapter! What an amazing anniversary gift :) I've been reading ever since Crimson and Clover first started, and it's been such a great ride up to now, your writing and development has blossomed beautifully and I feel as though I have such great connection with these characters who seem to have such life breathed into them. I truly do not believe that another fic in this fandom exists that has been so well developed as this one, and I can only look forward to the next chapters as they come. Thank you so much for sticking with this and with those of us that continue to read!

I really don't know how to explain the emotions brought out in me while reading this chapter. Dread, sadness, hope, a ittle anxiety? Paine and Rikku really just can't catch a break, can they? I have my suspicions as to what is going on in each story line... Except the blood guy... Though I'm sure he fits in somewhow...

This chapter was devastating. Really, really good- but DEVASTATING. Forty years? And the fact that I can't help but think that Cid totally was behind Auron's death... Rikku's ever looming possibility of actual pregnancy and everything is just up in the air it's a lot to take in! I really enjoyed the scene with Rikku and Keira, it was really sweet of her to reach out to Paine's mother and include her in this because she deserved to know. Gippal's protectiveness over Rikku is endearing as well as everyone else trying to be there for her, it really shows how strong everyone's bonds have been. Also wondering when Lulu and Wakka are going to find out whenever they get back...Vidina needs his auntie Pai back ):

I wouldn't be surprised if Auron covered up his death somehow- wouldn't it be perfect for them to believe he was dead, when he actually wasn't...just to catch them off guard?

Review time!
I was not disappointed when waiting for this chapter, so much is happening and while it breaks my heart that Paine is suffering, I know there has to be a way for her to get out clean. Especially since I agree with the other reviewer's suspicion that Rikku may be pregnant...I recall in the other chapter the results made the doctor wig out, which I had been wondering about for quite a bit...if so, what awful timing! Hopefully Paine gets out soon...
Nice to see Seymour in the mix now as well, even if briefly... Auron sure is giving me the absolute creeps, and of course he would find the perfect way to pin Paine down while trying to keep a promise to her wife. I wonder if Keira knows she's in jail?
It was really sweet to see the ending with Gippal and Rikku, especially with him helping her put the ring onto a necklace. ): Poor Rikku. Gip can be a real sweetheart when he's not being a doofus.
Anyway, the suspense is killing me! But amazing job on this- I'll be refreshing every day awaiting the next!

Oh wow the wait was really worth it!
Auron is dead, Paine is in prison for that, but who actually did it?
I have a feeling Cid and Braska had something to do with it. I mean after all what was Cid doing the whole time anyway?
And Rikku is definitely pregnant. I mean c'mon, she got morning sickness, feels nauseous.
I hope next chapter won't take as long, because I really want to know what happens next!
Oh btw I feel really bad for Brother, him and Milana must have been really close!

This chapter finally explains a little bit of what's going on but also keeps most of the mystery going. I was reading it a bit at a time as to relish the story before, inevitably, waiting for the next installment. So it took me longer than usual to read this one. Keep at it! It's still a gripping story. :3

I was seriously having palpitations from the very beginning of this chapter. I had to force myself not to skip lines, I do that sometimes when I get too excited...
I'll hand it to you, this story really is dramatic and heart wrenching. It pulls the reader in and doesn't let go.

This chapter had me in CHILLS...okay holy shit I'm so distraught over why Paine is in jail?! I really, really hope that she had to defend herself/it wasn't actually her fault like she said in the beginning because we all know how hard she was trying to make things right for Rikku...I definitely had to tab over to a different window to collect myself at times, haha! What the hell is Auron doing and what scared Kimahri are my biggest questions right now... and the sperm placebo? I really hope that goes okay too- Poor Paine though! I feel so awful for her and Rikku right now and I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter because it's killing me to think of their pain right now D: AWESOME CHAPTER THOUGH!

Oh no, here come the water works... This nearly made me choke up a little. so much happening and it's tearing them apart... This, is THE best Chapter i've seen so far! I never thought it would come to this, All the tension is putting me on the edge of my seat! Are they really through? how is the family dinner going to turn out? Just who/what made Kimahri so alert? Can't wait for the next CH! your making me crazy! Great Work!

So it took me awhile to actually go ahead and read Chapter 22 and 23, not only because I was busy, but also because I was kind of anxious. So this might not make any sense, but til chapter 22 everything was still fine. Yeah they were on edge and everything, but at that point nothing has actually happened. Auron was still in prison and there was no immediate threat. I just kind of felt anxious about what was going to happen. Because if I wouldn't like it, I could never go back and pretend it didn't happen, because I just couldn't forget it.
Anyway my actual review now.
Even though I wasn't really there I thought Keiras performance was simply amazing! I knew the song so I could hear the song in my head and feel the emotions somehow, it was soo well written!
And in general there were so many small details, things that I thought were just really great and important for the story and our understanding on how Rikku and Paine both feel. Not of course only in Chapter 22 and 23, but I think I failed to mention these things in my last reviews.
Rikku's little break down in the bathroom when she broke the glass or how Paine and Gippal would fight instead of talking, because with everything that is going on, all the emotional turmoil, the stress and it was just a natural reaction for these two characters, because we all know neither of them is really good at talking. And I also feel like the progression Paine and Rikku made in chapter 23, with the house and how the finally have hope and strength, it kinda transferred to me as well. I'm not anxious about the coming chapters anymore, I feel like things are gonna happen, but it will turn out just fine for them, in one way or another. Maybe I'm wrong but that doesn't make me any less excited for Chapter 24!
This is already super long, I still have plenty of things to comment about, but I'll just end it here.
Btw awesome that Elma is back and the house scene was sooo cute and awesome with both of them in the tub, I loved it.

What a quick, awesome update! I have a feeling we're going to be seeing Auron really soon...the last part of the chapter definitely gave me some chills- how the hell did he get in? Did he take important information? This can't be good for the fake sperm! The play was really great though, and dedicating it to Paine was really cute. I'm not about to forgive Paul, but it's nice to see how humble he's acting now after everything. Can't wait for the next chapter!
