I will certainly say this really intrigues me truly. The concepts for the uploaded humans was really interesting to me and the dilemma whethrler they are still consider human or AI is fascinating which kind of reminds me of the game Soma which is somewhat similiar but more tragic. The story and development of the characters so far is really well done though there might be some faults here and there for me personally.
HOWEVER, the moment the VOICE awakens, is where I draw the line on what is human anymore. The 'ascendent humans' truly disgust me because no matter what they say about them still being individuals within the not 'hivemind' I do not believe it at all. The fact that everyone is connected together and can literally be each other at the same time it really just reeks of a hivemind. Transcent humanity I can go with but not the so called Ascendent humanity which just disgust me how they could easily just accept being connected together in such a way.
Humanity is always about the individuality and how unique each person are to their own thoughts. But being apart of the Voice how would you even know your thoughts are your own and not some other thoughts or even feelings, heck maybe even could be the Voice itself just controlling your thoughts. The fact they can easily be control by the Voice as well just irks me the wrong way entirely. Like I say great story and everything but just the way humans decided to 'Ascent' does not sit well with me at all.

I enjoyed this at first. Very intriguing, but the... thing you created as the ascendant disgusts me.
I agree with you that the mind needn't be attached to a particular body, but those consumed by the many lost even their sense of self, what makes them... them.
The abomination you created from their mind-corpses deserves no admiration. To lose all that you are in them is little more than suicide and should be treated as such.
To consider such a god-abomination deserving of little more than death ascendent, better than what came before, is perhaps the greatest insult towards transhumanism I've ever heard.
0/10. I cannot begin to describe how much I hate it.
