So, finally getting around to reviewing your story.
Well, this is The Cape. Speculation is the only thing we've got left. :P
Not as young as some, but I see her point. *hugs Jamie* What is she, Tony Stark in female form? ...let's hope she can at least avoid the drunk stage of his life.
Given that Peter could give his little girl whatever she wanted, it's easy to see it that way. I'm sure he was an excellent father. (I'm also of the opinion that he had nothing to do with whatever happened to his wife, but there you go.) Poor Vince, though, trying to be all caring and stuff and failing. *ruffles his hair*
And that, Jamie, is the stuff accountants' nightmares are made of. ...heh. Sounds like my last accounting course I took. Now that was a nightmare. But good for you, being able to find that. Work for the IRS, dear. It got them Al Capone. It can get Peter Fleming too. XP
Despite the fact that that's illegal, you have to admire Jamie for being willing to look into this matter. (Yes, so is being a criminal mastermind. Semantics. But you can get away with murder as long as you don't dick around with your accounting, so...)
That would not have worked well, dear. Poor Jamie. *hugs her* And then everything went to hell, and you became Orwell (how Peter didn't spot that coming, I doubt we'll ever know), and...the rest is history.
Poor things. Her family is just as screwed up as Vince's, if not more. *hugs them*
And the last line is killer. Ow. *hugs Jamie tightly* Poor thing.

Damn. :( *hugs her* And this proves the theory that Vince is a blockhead because after hearing that story, he should've known what she wanted.

Couple of quibbles this time: 1. You said "Vince foundered about for a good response," but I think you meant "Vince floundered about..." 2. "I decided I couldn't keep using money that was got illegally", I would change to "that was gotten..." or "that was obtained..."
