I've been reading your fic for a while but I gotta say, this chapter really won me over. :D
From laughing at the 'drama' scene in the beginning to-PANICKING OVER SMOKESCREEN BEING POISONED. HOLY CRAP. D: I know that normally starring people don't die, at least not yet at this point, but oh my God, I was afraid that something worse would happen.
On a side note, I really love how you write dialogues. Sounds very natural and humorous.
Know that I will wait for the next chapter!

Now then what do M.E.C.H. (whose ‘name’ I cannot personally quite decide if are humorously fitting or very ‘unfortunate’) want with Arcee?
Hmm, I have to wonder if those nanites are actually Cliffjumper’s? Perhaps (considering recent ‘developments’) really Smokescreen? Or is this related to the M.E.C.H. attack? In any case, you were pretty unclear as to whenever these are still ‘present’ (if not necessarily ‘active’) or if she has successfully ‘flushed them out’ of her system in some way by the time they reach the party? (It would be interesting to know more about the role, rules and significance (complexity? Dimensions?) of such practices as these, (if there is more) beyond it than the ‘obvious’ of any ‘male piss marking practices’)
I found the commentary (world building) on the meanings of dance for cybetronians very interesting and it makes me wonder if other activities, such as racing may also for them hold hidden depths and complexities beyond anything humans would think to consider.
Well, if I am right in my suspicions (given all the little hinds you seem to have spread around) and ‘Ryan’ is actually Smokescreen and he ‘knows’ that ‘Samantha’ is Arcee, then I thing this is probably a fitting moment for a slow sarcastic applause. Way to go, miss stepping onto personal landmines. Purposefully playing (masquerade) around and in the process startling (triggering) someone whom he knows has very recently been brutally/severely assaulted and may not exactly expected to be of a ‘playful’ (or even rational) frame of mind. Intentionally or not (‘green’ as he apparently is and possibly infatuated/randy) on his part, that is just asking for a ‘good’ (instant, reflexive and possibly lethal) ‘response’ (as it should probably be unsurprising (possibly even expected) that a combat/war veteran like Arcee would by this point (considering everything she has undergone) be likely to have some form/degree of cybetronian PTSD or at least severe and potentially explosive bouts of hyperawareness/suspicion/paranoia).
For ***** sake they are currently still in the middle of a WAR and being under threat on several fronts. The primary(?) threat being beings that even specialize in deception (its even in their name for crying out loud). Seems like Arcee might be right when it comes to him being the one to actually ‘underestimate’ someone (or at least acting/being wilfully cocky/bold/stupid in his ‘games’, not considered how he could be interpreted) and being in dire need of a serious wakeup call regarding what is acceptable behaviour amongst his ‘allies’ (what you currently can and cannot kid around with).
I also have to wonder whenever Ratchet actually knew of his presence before her arrival and failed to inform her (which, if an intentional neglect, I think could bee seen as a reckless, as he ought to know better, ‘overstep of boundaries’ on his part).
Also can’t she ‘sense’ or communicate (signal and receive) with her team, other cybetronians, or even her main body in the ‘usual’ (non-vocal) cybetronian ways when in holoform? Is that parts of its limitations?
On a reflective side note: needing a break or not, considering her current ‘mission’ it seemed very ‘odd’ for Arcee to willingly leave the current (suspected) threat/situation out of her current sensory range and control (referring to her ‘bathroom break’), even for a moment creating a window of opportunity for others to take advantage of. Also upon consideration, why is there in the first place no mention of them initially attempting to contact/call either Jack or the team beforehand before even considering entering the club (and the risks this entails)? While I could understand them forgetting to consider/tally Smokescreen (with him being a fairly new addition to the team) the rest seems out of character, not to mention outright unprofessional/stupid.
‘Messy’ as it may get, I’m very much looking forward to how this particular ‘dance’ will end and am hoping you will update the story soon. I really enjoy reading your stories.

Great story :) Hot, but I never expected it to go even deeper than physical. I was curious but at the same time wary because I wasn't sure that the story would turn out to be as good as it actually is. ( I was afraid of those fanfics, where there is too much physical stuff and no character development at all)

I have recently started reading your fics and (some occasional minor ‘bugs’ here and there aside) having quite enjoyed them so far, I have to say that I think you have talent as a writer. Hope you’ll post something more soon.
As for this fic and chapter specifically:
I admit that, while I don’t think anybody would really envy either of them, I think it could have been rather hilarious to be a fly on the wall for that/those abovementioned tests, or rather the dialogue(s) that likely went with them, between Ratchet and Smokescreen. Provided of course that one was not caught in the act of listening in.
Though Ratchet might conceivably find some amusement in it all (on the others expense perhaps)? On the other hand that could end up ‘backfiring’…
In any case it I think would be interesting if we could also get, at least a glimpse of, either Smokescreen’s or an ‘outsiders’ (somebody other than either Arcee or Smokescreen) perspective on what is currently going on between the two.
