1/18 c16 Between Calm and Storm
I am liking seeing how the vampire storyline is coming together and how we have Shirou playing around with healing tools in dangerous ways.
Matsu was asleep when the docks fight happened, so she probably just hadn't checked up on what had happened in the city yet at breakfast.
Avalon is actually the only thing Shirou can trace perfectly and he does have the mana needed, but needs Saber for it to work properly.
I am interested to see where things are going to go with Chiho and Uzume. Chiho being a novice magus gives her more of a role in the future as well. It is all set up to be a giant misunderstanding and it could blow up in so many ways.
There are 4-5 groups all working on their own plans or trying to mess with the other groups plans and we are getting closer and closer to a bunch of head on collisions.
Looking forward to see how things go from here

I bet there is no way that Matsu doesn't know something happened at the docks the night before. I wonder if that was what she was discussing with Miya before Minato came downstairs. I imagine that Minato wont be too happy to learn how much she has been keeping from him. Especially on the issue of the Veiled Sekirei.

A few notes: One,Shirou actually remembers his whole past, he just tries not to think about it because of the trauma. Two Reality Marbles aren’t banned or anything, they’re just viewed as pointless thanks to being practically impossible to pass down to the next generation, and therefore a waste of talent, though they are nevertheless viewed as an incredible achievement. And Shirou’s Limited Alignment isn’t that weird, really, just a sign of his origin expressing itself more strongly than average. Possibly induced by Avalon, but eh. Oh, and of course his projections only disappear when he feels they should, whether that’s when he wants them to or he subconsciously rejects them, say due to them breaking when his image of them doesn’t, but that’s a skill issue. They’re completely and truly permanent otherwise. I’d recommend checking out the El-Melloi Files, the recent volumes have had some Shirou appearances.

Been really liking the fic and looking forward to seeing more.
One thing to note for the rewrite: Shirou's projections, as Rin figured out by poking around in his shed, do not get eaten away by the world and can last indefinitely. So he could have a traced KB for years with no effort.

What was up with Minato passing out in the middle of the discussion? Did he just faint from the reality of learning that he and his sister are the "Ashikabi of the North"? Or was something else going on?

Lol Matsu has got to be feeling some guilt about ratting out Uzume to Shirou after this chapter. I couldn't help but picture Matsu internally cussing like a sailor after Minito's statement that he "wishes he would have found the Veiled Sekirei first". Her staring off into space at that moment was telling lol. I doubt Minato is going to be happy when he learns how much Matsu has been keeping quiet about everything. I hope Akitsu can clear things up. She said it herself in the recent Reforged chapter; "I'm broken not stupid". Hopefully, the other reviewers fears about Akitsu not being socially savvy enough to handle the whole Chiho deal are baseless... We'll just have to see though.

Good chapter, but you may want to give it another look. I noticed a number of typos. For example, the last sentence of the paragraph where Shirou starts telling his girls about his past as a bedtime story... reads weirdly. Cheers

Ouch. Poor Karasuba. Starts to join in and want to be part of the group and then gets ignored, insulted by exclusion and has the sole security of Shirou being stuck with her even if he doesn’t like her torn away by an off handed description of a tool he can use at anytime.

I've been waiting for this to somehow come up but thinking about it idk how obvious this is..
I'm used to reading stories where the MC finds Akitsu and finds some way to fix her so I have always assumed that in any story I read with her being found by the MC it'll always end with her having been winged.
It just occurred to me though that it's possible you may not have been considering fixing her condition. Idk some kind of disability based character growth or something.
Anyways.. I'd just thought that I'd mention that Rule Breaker would probably work on her if you were considering fixing her.

Between Uzume, Minato, Yukari and the later two's Sekirei I can see multiple ways this could blow up and it is a telling indictment that Akitsu might not have been the worst choice for the mission. Personally, I hope that Uzume goes into this believing she is trading her life to spare Chiho's just to find out this is about treatment options. As for Minato and Yukari's response, even the question of coordinated action would be up in the air. Of course one alternative would be to split efforts while using the opportunity to get Haruka and Kuno out as the Disciplinary Squad will be busy.
