I see almost nothing in this story that is like Genetic Teakettle and I've read that and this, I've enjoyed it so far but I really wish she wasn't included in the vision it seems like every SI gets dragged into the beacon either with or without shep. Besides that I've really enjoyed this so far

5000-7000 words sounds about right, decent chapter length.
I'm a bit curious at what caused alenko to flip like that, to be honest.

What triggered the rage though? Seeing his XO get dumped on the deck? We do know that he was having a migraine from before this began, or at least it can be assumed since he had a "pained grimace on his face, and one hand pressed to his forehead." From what I can tell, the incident started when Kristen yelled at Alenko to "STOP POKING (HER)," since before that he seemed to be just teasing her. Although even that bit seems a bit out of his character in the games. He's not a joker; he'd go help the three, not tease Kristen.
I have a theory... After using the biotics, Alenko's L2 implants take over temporarily after he dismisses them. The length and amount of control that the implants have is directly correlated with how long and how much he used his biotics. I don't mean to say that it has total control; maybe it lowers his inhibitions or changes his thought patterns somewhat. Will need more data to confirm.
I do have one thought though. This might get Kaidan his Cat-6(the ME version of mentally unfit for duty; US military it's a section 8 medical discharge). According to Shepard, he had never gone that far before. This is... problematic.
As for pairings: Honestly, Ashley really feels like the mother of the three women. Shepard is the more curious about their guest. I'll leave it at that.
