You know I absolutely love White Collar and was feeling Nostalgic. Just so you know I came back to fanfiction .net purely for your story when I definitely moved on to A03. This fic is amazing and thank you for sharing it.

This was brilliant! From the banter between Peter and Neal, loopy Neal (priceless!), the fretful angsty moments, flashbacks/memories, dreams to internal thoughts of canon and new characters...this was so very well done and well written! I will go on to read more of your stories and even though it's been awhile, hope you will add more! Thank you!

I could say lots but reading on my quickly disappearing lunch break. I just have to say how perfect of a chapter this is! These POVs and Neal being Neal are priceless!

I am loving the different points of view, both of those looking inward and those like Megan, seeing things from the outside. Hers was particularly entertaining in this chapter!

I don't even know where to begin! I love your long fics. I think the thing that really strikes me with them is,,, the impressive scope of them? The fact that you dedicated almost 155k words to just a few days makes my head explode haha I love how in depth you manage to go into things, how you weave the past and present and thoughts and memories (not to mention dreams) together to build something so wonderful and exactly what I've been looking for! I've mentioned this before in your other longfic that I read, but I adore your characterisation and the character dynamics. It feels so much like I'm watching an episode of the show, which is honestly such a balm to my soul bc I've missed the show very much haha. The conversations that characters have in this are exactly what I've been looking for in fics (and a lot of what I wish we'd gotten on the show, especially in s4 and 5). It's nice to be able to read this and imagine those conversations happening, and to see these play out, especially with your amazing writing and characterisation.
I think my other favourite thing about your writing is how you write dreams! I've read many, *many* dreams in both fics and published fiction, but none have ever gotten to me the way your dream sequences have! The realness of Peter dreaming that Neal had died was incredible! I spent a super long time wondering if it was real or not and teetering between stress and frantically reassuring myself it was a dream. I also rly liked the dream with the house - I enjoyed the look into Peter's psyche, and the way you wrote that out.
Thank you so much for writing and sharing this with us. I've had the best time reading this.

I read a lot, and I usually like long fanfictions, but for some reason, long White Collar fics dont do it for me. I didn't see the word count of this fic before I started it, so when I checked randomly whilst reading the 19th chapter, I was quite surprised:
You managed to hook me, and it was so in character and the pacing was so smooth, that I didn't notice just how many words I was reading.
You wrote this story six (?) years ago, and it is still wonderful now.

Usually I'm not the biggest fan about stories where my favorite character is unconscious and everybody is waiting for him to wake up. But somehow, you took this premise and made it into a compelling, gorgeous story, where I'm more than half way through and still as hooked as in the beginning.
Thank you for writing, and I'll continue onwards now!

I really loved these last two chapters, they showed the situation very well and I loved Sara's thought-process!

This was very good. I know you wrote it some time ago and perhaps have left fandom but I wanted to leave a note. It is a great story. The characters of Peter and Neal are excellent. They are consistent and true and the relationship is everything we hoped for. Peter cared so much for Neal, as a person and consultant and it was genuine. If he ever talked to Neal about the anklet or prison it wasn’t to threaten him it was to understand him better. I thought how wonderful it was that the huge group of people that cared for Neal assembled in the hospital waiting room while he was in surgery. Neal is a good person, talented beyond the rest of us, trying to use his talents for a good life, and he was once on the wrong path. Thanks to Peter (and himself and others) he is now on the right path.
Sara was interesting. You were accurate in your author’s notes to mention fans were divided by her character. I’m one who is ambivalent, even when they began a relationship. In this story she was great. She was a hard nosed investigator caught in a situation and she saved Neal’s life. She learned to respect him once she gave him a chance. Brilliant move to give back the Raphael. Sara can move on and Neal has returned the favor of saving his life.
I appreciated the discussions of Kate. I think there was finally closure to their story. Peter didn’t trust her but he never shared it fully with Neal. Because no matter what Neal loved her. It was interesting that Neal couldn’t say whether or not he would have gotten on the plane. I think that’s true. He was still torn, possibly still deciding now that Peter was in front of him, and we know how impulsive Neal is.
Thank you again. I have to stop talking! We appreciate all that you wrote for WC and best wishes with anything you do in the future.

:-))) I'm lacking words to describe it right now, so I'll just let you know that I enjoyed this story very much. I enjoyed the flashbacks, although from time to time I wasn't sure if we were already back in the timeline or only from the flashback in the flashback...
