I was in tears…
even in your writing haste, you have wrote a truly moving story…..brilliant.
I wish more people would read this…You are too good to have so few reviews.

So brilliant. Let me throw Highclere awards at you. I don't know if Fellowes has written Mary's reaction this way (I avoid spoilers) but your interpretation seems very real and possible for the Mary we know.

So many of the details in your story were perfect - I love your/Mary's opening description of Matthew (Isobel in tow) and the insight on how he was there half the time. I never thought of it that way but it's true. And then when Isobel enters Mary's bedroom and her momentary reaction to seeing the place in Matthew's life that she had never entered. Because it's true that as a parent you have to gradually know there are more and more places in their lives that you will never enter (but I digress).

I do like Isobel here. I hope you write the next "chapter" for this Mary.

Heart breaking, and a very realistic portrayal. It must have been very difficult to write this and thank you for sharing.
