It's been years since I had originally read this story, and i'm thrilled it's still up. I remember reading it before season two had come out, and loving how well it incorporated all the aspects from the first season of the show.
I hadn't intended to reread the whole thing, but the first paragraph drew me in and next thing I know i've read the whole story. the way you write the characters is just so captivating and well done, I honestly don't even have the words to express how well they were all written.
It was also fun rereading this after the show finished, and finding aspects that were very close to things the second season revealed. nothing major of course, i think i remember this finishing before the second season came out, but still fairly close.
still, it was a very enjoyable read. i loved the plot when I first read this, and loved it even now. the ending, while sad, is still very well done. it's a good ending that leaves you wanting more, similar to a good magic show actually, and after reading this I'm tempted to rewatch all of gravity falls once more. I also may hunt down that billy mischief swing playlist too (or playlists, i feel like there were two) just to enjoy the world a little bit more.

This is an excellent tragedy and an incredible head canon for bill's origin story. It really explains a lot of the things that didn't make much sense in gravity falls. Thanks for writing it!

WOW! Just WOW! This is one of the best and most complex AU backstory I've ever read about Bill Cipher!
I have come across quite a few stories where Bill was once a human who somehow turned into a demon, but none of them describe it in such detail.
I like the plot where he and the triangular demon became one and the same. It adds a sort of tragic twist that really goes well with the ending with his former friends.
You have managed to interlock tragedy with a spice of horror to make a fanfic so very unique that I don't have words for it.
You dialogue is also spot on. I'll be the first to admit that dialogue is definitely NOT my forte.
Your characterization of Bill as a human was very good and I am pleased to note, it wasn't cheesy like I'm used to reading in other stories.
PLEASE do keep writing. Talent like yours is what makes the website great.

This was one of the first fanfics I ever read, and I'm SO grateful it was. It was before I had an account and I refound this and OH MY GOD I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS STORY. I love this story. You made me care so much about these characters and it killed me to watch them fall. This will forever be one of my favorite fan fics.
