It's seems a bit too strange that a german man (prussian or not) would mispronounce a german name... If at all it should be Arthur mispronouncing Ludwig. (Native english speakers seem to have a tendency to be unable to correctly pronounce german names)
In this case the grammatically right thing for Gilbert to say should have been: "meinen Bruder"
