Wow- you seem to be taking intense Combeferre/Grantaire confrontations in your stride my friend! This is wonderful and the tantalising plot thread you let slip about Enjolras' past is too good to let go- please use it! The ending of this chapter is also really, really well done- the small glimmer of hope amid all the despair and darkness is just wonderful and I can't wait to see where you go from here! TWO UPDATES IN LIKE THREE DAYS I HAVE NO WORDS FOR HOW HAPPY I AM! Darling, this was so so beautiful, and so sad! I can't wait to see how Combeferre reacts to the fight between Enj and R, and who's side he will be on, if any. This chapter broke my heart, and I can't wait for the next update! I do sincerely hope you don't kill Enjolras off… I don't know if my soul could take that! (Which, of course, makes canon Les Miserables very hard to deal with sometimes lol.)

The moments with Madame Hucheloup are wonderfully done and I adore the idea of her being an over aching maternal figure to the Amis- a wonderful touch and I can't wait to see where you go from here! This was a great chapter! I'm so glad you updated - it was an awesome gift after a terrible morning. I was thinking about this story the other day actually. I'm sorry that you've been having hard time and I hope it turns out ok!
I liked the guilt Grantaire expresses in this chapter and how realistic it is. It isn't overwhelming, but it's present. The characterization of all the characters in this fic are accurate and it's very refreshing! I liked how Joly focussed on his work, but afterwards showed his fear of filth and disease. Many writers seem to make him incapable of anything but worry, so it was nice to see a different perspective - one that I find much more accurate.
The mentions of where Gavroche goes when upset or scared was a nice touch. Its nice to be remembered that the cocky street urchin who we all love and admire is still a child at heart and things still trouble him.

Aww poor R :( he's so sad. Ferre is so caring, and R just wants to make everything better but doesn't know how. I really hope Enjolras heals well, though I am curious about any complications his recovery may lead to... Loved this chapter!
