Even if they don't become a couple, I'd say the promise of a friendship here is simply adorable! I love it! The fact that you added Sherlock's father into the picture was really great, because it makes people go deeper into the story.
The reason for this is because romance should never EVER just have romance as a genre. The main focus should actually NOT be on the romance, but on something else entirely. Thereby, creating more of a reality. Because life isn't just about romance and that reality is what makes a good romance.
Anyways, you did a great! I adored it! :)
